Launch Day - Book of Heroes: Jaina Proudmoore & Scholar Jaina Bundle
Today sees the release of the Book of Heroes solo adventure series, with Jaina Proudmoore, the Mage Hero. All 10 main heroes in Hearthstone will be getting a spotlight over the course of the next 12 months. Book of Heroes: Jaina is LIVE!
According to the announcement of the Forbidden Library event, which this is all part of, this week should not just feature the release of the Solo Adventure, but also the release of the Scholar Jaina bundle on the store!
Quote from BlizzardSeptember 15 – Hearthstone Book of Heroes, Jaina
After some light dusting, crack open the first installment of Hearthstone Book of Heroes to follow Jaina Proudmoore’s journey from scholar to mighty Mage! Hearthstone Book of Heroes will bring fresh and free single player content over the course of the next 12 months, until the stories for all 10 core Heroes have been told. Defeating all 8 bosses in this linear adventure will reward 1 Mage Pack, containing only Mage cards from Standard!
The sad thing about free adventures is that it feels like you're wasting your time since you only get a few packs. In this case, you only get one, and a bad one. And to get it you must defeat 8 bosses. Idk about the difficulty, but I'm pretty sure that it takes at least 40 minutes. The fact that quests don't make progress when playing adventures doesn't help either.
"But you're getting free content". The sad truth is that this game trains your brain to try getting as much free gold as possible (as a f2p). The free content in this case is the adventure itself and 5 cards, and after Galakrond's Awakening and Trial by Felfire I don't have much faith on the content of adventures.
So yeah, I'm not playing this.
While I think this is the worst adventure so far, I cannot complain. I got golden Jandice Barov.
It really is inevitable. I honestly think anyone who dislikes this has either not played Warcraft/doesn't like it or just wants free rewards and this doesn't offer good enough rewards to meet their expectations. In short: Entitled children dislike things like this. Was honestly one of the best playthroughs i've ever experienced in Hearthstone, and i've been playing since 2014.
I never found dungeon runs exciting but this is very good! I like the story telling and I will definitely go through all the others in future
Well, I like the decision making in the dungeon run-like adventures.
In this one every encounter is tailored in a way that you just know you can always win with the deck they gave you, taking some pressure away. Which also gives it zero replayability.
But there will be 9 more, so it's still a good amount of playtime, definitely better that the Outlands.
yep we can agree that you are not going to replay these stories most likely.. but it is something different
This how I did the solo adventure series at the Book of Heroes , with Jaina Proudmoore, the Mage Hero.
Dear god. Is there anything that make you guys feel happy? I really liked the adventure. I guess complaining is free...
I really like this! It's casual, and gives storytelling and insight into the characters. Good job Blizz :P
nerf mage!
XDDDDDDDDD
Not gonna lie, just hit alt+f4 when Kael'thas round began. It's boring.
At least Jaina was not rhyming.
I have hopes that they are releasing this mediocre content just for everyone to get excited and pay up for next dungeon run.
Antonidas voice was not the same as WC3 :/
wait till you get to thrall
Blackmore, Drek'Thar, Grom, Mannoroth, Garrosh
Hell yeah!
Tho looking at "oh my god its free" Outland adventure, I will reserve my hype.
i meant that thrall wasnt voiced by Chris metzen in this first chapter, a key request he made when he retired from the company 4 years ago.
I love the Gray Cat card in this adventure. Why couldn't they have made it instead of Black Cat. It was barely played during the time odd/even was supported and then became absolutely useless. They should put it in classic set.
I'm sure they had a reason to make a Wolfrider but with deathrattle: deal 2 damage to your hero but I cannot for the life of me figure out why.
This is why you don't do drugs.
Because that was the theme of that encounter, stuff that punishes you when it dies.
Yes! In the first one my opponent filled up his board with mirror images so I just pinged him to death with my hero power. Sure enough, he started burning cards every turn because it was a minion heavy deck and he couldn't play anything.
I like the idea of this, I hope it won't replace other PvE content in future expacs though.
