Launch Day - Book of Heroes: Jaina Proudmoore & Scholar Jaina Bundle
Today sees the release of the Book of Heroes solo adventure series, with Jaina Proudmoore, the Mage Hero. All 10 main heroes in Hearthstone will be getting a spotlight over the course of the next 12 months. Book of Heroes: Jaina is LIVE!
According to the announcement of the Forbidden Library event, which this is all part of, this week should not just feature the release of the Solo Adventure, but also the release of the Scholar Jaina bundle on the store!
Quote from BlizzardSeptember 15 – Hearthstone Book of Heroes, Jaina
After some light dusting, crack open the first installment of Hearthstone Book of Heroes to follow Jaina Proudmoore’s journey from scholar to mighty Mage! Hearthstone Book of Heroes will bring fresh and free single player content over the course of the next 12 months, until the stories for all 10 core Heroes have been told. Defeating all 8 bosses in this linear adventure will reward 1 Mage Pack, containing only Mage cards from Standard!
No, it's cool because there will be 9 more for this event, and each gives a pack (a good one, since it can pick whatever card you don't have for a class in more than one expansion) but it has 0 replayability.
I'm not complaining, it's quite good and it's free, but I still like stuff like the Dalaran Heist more.
Does anyone have the feeling that Hearthstone AI got even worse for this adventure? And not that bosses were so smart before...
Just completed the Jaina adventure and my opponents did so many misplays!
I assume that "work from home" orders have caused Team 5 to re-organize internally. We haven't seen a new Tavern Brawl in months, and the PvE content for the two adventures this year hasn't exactly been thrilling. I wouldn't be surprised if folks are being taken off less essential HS projects in order to ensure that the cool stuff is completed - the three expansions, and the forthcoming new game mode. All things considered, it isn't the end of the world if the peripheral HS stuff is sub-par, given everything else that has happened.
This could very well be the case, as well as trying hard keep putting out content and fixing bugs and sometimes even fixing content, they could be very stressed already. And that may be exactly why they decided to slowly release content for Book of Heroes for a year; it isn't even complete yet.
I feel like this isn't supposed to be an 'adventure' quite like the others.
These seems more like it's trying to be a short & sweet 'extended tutorial' (after concluding the basics) to introduce [new] players to all the characters in a fun and engaging dynamic, while also giving players nice little summarised stories of the past. It actually seems very similar to Illidan's story in the Ashes of Outland prologue.
One thing I enjoyed was the hero power ranking up as you follow along the story. I also liked the second hero portrait (maybe we'll see that one later) and was slightly sad to see they had another good one that I couldn't play as elsewhere.
There are a few slight cosmetic details that would be nice to have that could be further added to the main game, such as: changing the emotes and changing the hero powers for new hero portraits, and the new board.
Overall, it is a fun and enjoyable adventure. It may not be a big adventure to hunt down bosses like the others, but it is definitely nice to have in the meanwhile before the next great adventure.
Blizzard really needs to re-evaluate when and what hero portraits they release. Why are we getting two mage skins in a row, especially after KT came out which is probably one of the most popular characters in WoW.
Way too easy, way too quick, and I'm pretty confident this has zero replayability. Joy this is getting stretched over a year???
Well, at least it's free, cuz you definitely get what you pay for in this case.
That was awful pve. I dont remember when pve was so boring and easy. They always set at least some challenge bosses with building decks. What is the point in so easy bosses. Last year Uldum pve was paid for 28 $ if I remember correctly and every $ worth of it. I want back paid pve content which is interesting and worth playing.
This is very interesting, however I wish we would get a solo content that's replayable. Hopefully they will anounce the new game mode soon.
Completely luck-based adventure. If they're going to make the free adventures this shitty they're better off making them premium but actually good.
Just because something is free doesn’t automatically make it good or that u have to like it. I can give u a free bag of dog poop im sure you’d complain about that
I was exited for this but i will summarise in two words: DISAPPOINTING and REPETITIVE. They need to bring dungeon run back.
1 shot eachthing all the boss did so many miss play... last boss cast all spell then do hero power for +2 spell power... what a joke
So they can make a new adventure for free but that can't give us updates voicelines for a portrait that cost money? Wow Blizzard
Instead of appreciating the fact that they made the new adventure for free, you complain lol
They are so repetitive and boring
The portrait seems nice overall but for some reason her face reminds me hide the pain Harold
the time has come...HEARTHSTONE THE HEROES
The game's name is "Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft".
I don't get your comment/joke.
they actually removed the "Heroes of Warcraft" part back in 2016.
