Scholomance Academy Meta Decks - Pros Edition
A few days into the expansion we rounded up the best Scholomance Academy decks we could find. Played by pros on high ladder rankings, with a positive winrate. We included every class, with some classes multiple variants.
Monday Update: Added several decks to the list!
DEMON HUNTER
There weren't many players playing DH, but XiaoT played this list to rank 1 on an 8-1 run. Like it is for many aggro lists Voracious Reader is a huge new addition.

DRUID
Many things have been said and written about Druid since the expansion launched, and not all of it was kind. Opinions seem all over the place about how good Druid is, with many claiming that Druid should be nerfed, while others, including several Grandmasters, have said the Druid hype is overblown and that it can be beat with several decks. You be the judge for yourself, with these lists we found, including an unusual list by Grandmaster Viper, which is actually a combo deck in disguise:

HUNTER
Maur1_HS had a lot of success on ladder with Secret Hunter, getting as high as Rank 25. He went 39-24 overall and 16-6 against Druids. He gloated about how good it felt to have both Freezing Trap and Pressure Plate up while playing them.

MAGE
There's some variations of Mage going around, and we present 2 of them for you here. First an Exodia Freeze Mage masterminded by Hunterace and then a Tempo Mage deck piloted to rank 10 by PizzaTCG.

Monday Update: This new Mage Deck archetype has the pros falling over themselves. Grandmaster BoarControl recommended it, Canadian GM Eddie and EggowaffleHS said their brains were melting. It is apparently hard to play and in need of refinement, but it also apparently destroys Druids.

PALADIN
Former Grandmaster Fenomeno tweeted the following Paladin list, which he got from XiaoT. His record with it was 17-7 (8-3 against Druid!) and he hit Rank 63 at the peak. The same list was also part of the line up used by HawkeyeHS in a Cup win to qualify for Masters Tour Madrid.

PRIEST
Priest is kind of all over the map these first few days, but there's no doubt the class has potential. We have for you two different takes on a Galakrond Priest deck, and a Highlander Galakrond deck. 2 of them were part of a line up that won a Qualifying Cup for Madrid.

ROGUE
If you have little resources in Hearthstone or like Rogue (or both!), we have a treat for you. MeatiHS made a 2600 total dust cost Aggro Rogue, which he piloted to Rank 3 on ladder and of which Grandmaster Zalae said "8-2 to legend, Easiest/Fastest climb of my life. 10/10 Would recommend." Now that is a ringing endorsement.

WARLOCK
America's latest Grandmaster NoHandsGamer, who popularized Pain Warrior last expansion, is back this time with a similar theme: Pain Warlock. The deck description has the video of him playing the deck and you can do nutty things with it.

WARRIOR
Several Warrior lists were spotted during the course of the last few days, we feature NAGON's Big Warrior list, which had some success against Druids, and a Pain Warrior list that is much the same as last expansion's except for the addition of Shield of Honor, which Paradox used to help win one of the Qualifying Cups for Madrid.

Monday Update: MeatiHS posted an Highlander-ish Galakrond Warrior deck, which he went 8-5 with in top 25 Legend. You outlast Druids, Aggro is a free win and Galakrond chip damage makes Gala Priest/Rogue match ups very winnable.

I've been playing Quest Value shaman (no Galakrond) and it's been pretty good so far. Lots of long games though but I've even managed to outvalue Galakrond Priest a few times.
Poor shaman. They could come up only with this mediocre deck. Wishful thinking
No pros are running manafeeder???
Goody Two-Shields has single handedly saved Paladin
Paladin is a blast, put your faith in the light
THE LIGHT SHALL BURN YOU!
wait RIP Auchenai.
I did mention on 3 of the decks their positive win rates against Druid. I know people are either playing Druid or countering it. :)
There are so many interesting looking decks in here that'd I'd love to try once I get my hands on some of those legendaries.
Seems like the meta is finally changing a bit again because of the new expansion and making way for many valid decks instead of just the galakrond decks, rez priest, spell/dragon mage and ramp/dragon (mainly ysere) druid + aggro (but they'll never go away).
Though this `Opinions seem all over the place about how good Druid is, with many claiming that Druid should be nerfed, while others, including several Grandmasters, have said the Druid hype is overblown and that it can be beat with several decks` is kinda dumb to post when you post 4 decks instead of the 1/3 decks other classes have. Of which almost all have exactly the same spells, teachers pet, twillight runner and ysera. Though the decks still seem interesting, but posting 4 decks is kinda showing the opposite of what you say in the description and it just feels like the grandmasters are acting like they aren't overpowered to hide that they are abusing it.
I suggest maybe posting the decks that counter the druid decks, since many people seem to be struggling to play against/find it unfun to play against. And not show an obvious favoratisme towards druid while saying people are overestimating them.
The pain warlock deck is pretty crazy and seems to really reward intelligent combo plays. Only played 7 so far but won 5 and won all by turn 6/7 which is fast enough for druid to be unable to do anything truly crazy. They seem to become torn between trying to remove what you have on board or ramping. When they ramp though it just let's you carry on building a bonkers board and they lack AoE to effectively deal with it.
Tour guide on 1 followed by coin into Darkglare on 2, tap, Voidwalker, Flame Imp, Expired Merchant activating Hand of Gul'dan has only happened once so far but there seem to be a fair few interactions that combo out in a similar way. Tour Guide on 1 is amazing, especially if it dies by turn 3 and you can get Vulture on 4 with Raise Dead then Tour Guide, tap. Turn 3 if you have coin and bang, you have 4+ minions.
It will struggle vs decks that include a good few taunts or clears. Of the 2 games I lost, one was the first game with the deck vs a priest. Got them to 1 health and they just managed to stabilise with a taunt and I'd drawn my whole deck. Second loss was to a warrior who had coin. Bladestorm, a brawl and bad draw meant I couldn't put enough pressure on before a turn 7 commencement.
All in all though, very fun and rewarding. Lots of decisions to make and a splash of RNG with the vulture. The soul fragments feel fantastic at times as well. You can cram a really good amount in if you get Jailer on 1 and he comes back a couple of times with Raise Dead. Then with all the draw you get you can go from 10 health back to 20+ pretty quickly. Flesh giants get discounted quickly and provide a great distraction for people to target and leave your vulture and/or Darkglare up.
I agree, had a blast playing it. Only change I made was -1x Shadowflame +1x Shadowlight Scholar.
Really easy to build up boards with Diseased Vulture and to keep going with Raise Dead. Card draw is off the charts, you can hit fatigue before your opponent sees half of his deck. Flesh Giant is often a nightmare for your opponents to deal with. Darkglare is ridiculous, I was pulling combos out of thin air. Oh and Tour Guide is the real mvp.
Edit: also agree about the intelligent plays, it's a skill intensive deck. Mulligans are complicated, you have to manage your health total well, Darkglare turns can be tricky, etc. There are also some "big brain" plays to make, like purposefully discarding Flesh Giant instead of Hand of Gul'dan with Expired Merchant depending on the matchup.
Make some interesting decks and post them then? Stop being a bitch and practice what you preach.
Hey look! Just gala priests... boring...
what about fixing innkepper thats been broken for 8 morths... and not waste time linking streamer decks
My work is making interesting content for the news, I don't do program development.
Similarly the devs just do program development and don't create content for the frontpage.
2 different jobs.
We know Innkeeper being broken is annoying and we wish we had had it fixed already, but it's not, and randomly complaining about it in unrelated threads or news posts is not going to speed the process up.
When we have news on that front it will be announced, rest assured.
Well most of this stuff isn't very interesting.
Inkeeper might be a popular card for now, but there was a time when it sat there for months and was never used by anyone.
The meta changes...
yep this deck is just bad i dont understand why you link this each 4 days...
Which one is bad ?
I love the Malygos OTK combo but I don't think I could save swipes/moonfires against the aggro decks.
Against Aggro, your win condition becomes survive, not combo.
In that case, feel free to sling your Swipes and Moonfires out like crazy and hope you make it to your Overflow.
