Updated Free Decks For New And Returning Players - July 30!
Blizzard just shared some information about updated decks for new and returning players, these decks will be available in-game on July 30.
These decks are available only for 9 out of 10 classes, Demon Hunter is apparently not an option.
Quote from BlizzardThe decks awarded to new and returning players will be updated on July 30! We’ve also made it easier for returning players to claim the free deck by removing the prerequisite of completing the returning player experience.* So long as you’ve been away for 120 days, you’ll be prompted with the deck grant right after you log in!
As a reminder, here is how it works for new players:
- Log into Hearthstone and complete the tutorial and the Starter Quest line.
- You will need to graduate from the New Player Ranks (Ranks 40-1).
- Upon completing these quests, you will be able to select your free Class Deck once you return to the main menu.
It’s possible you may not see the deck in your deck list if you did not have an open deck slot when you chose your free Class Deck. If this happens, don’t worry! You will still receive all the cards from that deck. If you would like to delete one of your existing decks, you can then navigate back to this page and use our deck list. From here, copy the deck code, and you can then add the deck to your deck list from within Hearthstone.
*Limited one per account. A returning player is defined as one who has not logged into Hearthstone for 120 consecutive days. If you’re returning to Hearthstone on 7/30/2020, your last log in needs to be before 4/1/2020 to qualify.

Wait what? You should've received the free deck actually.
Should contact their support service, it's a legit good service.
120 days dont play = 80 Gold x 120 days = 9600 Gold = 96 Packs = 5280 Dust (@55 dust for pack) = 3 Legendaries + 1 Epic + 1 Rare my Choice.
Really the returning players must be a patetic collection for worth claim these decks. Anyway, are free...
Well for fun pick spell mage
for winrate And consistency pick cance,.. i mean, hunter
Thank you for the clarification kind sir! So basically nothings really changed except the decks she'l choose will be different (newer) awesome. thanks again.
Im not sure im getting this right. So My girlfriend started 2 months ago but she is still in the new player ranks (playing mostly brawl that's why) Does she qualify still as a new player? And do you need to go rank 1 just on july 30? or any day past that? If anyone can clarify thank you!
Yes she does qualify.
And before July 30 you get the old free decks (highlander mage for example), after July 30 you get the new ones.
And you don't need to rank through the new player ranks, you could skip those but you'll miss out on 31 packs.
(3 packs each 5 ranks and when you finished rank 1 you get 10 more packs, 2 classics and 2 of the 4 latest expansions)
Is that how it actually works? When did this promotion start? I returned in the first week or two of Ashes of Outland, and I hadn't logged in since Rastakhan's Rumble (so like over a year). I didn't get a deck.
It doesn't bother me too much haha, just kinda curious that I missed out on some free future dust =P.
Highly recommend anyone coming back into the game for Scholomance Academy after a long break pick the Hunter deck as their returning/new player deck. Highlander Hunter has historically been a solid to top tier meta deck and can only get improved over time. Runner-ups would be Druid and Rogue lists if you hate Hunter, but keep in mind Rogue's deck recently got nerfed and isn't as good as it used to be.
Rip your quest mage ;;
I feel like, out of all the bad things Blizzard has come to be known for... This is actually a good thing lol. Not sure why previous people commenting here are complaining so much.
Yes, I returned at Ashes of Outland after a 1.5 year ish break (quit during Rastakhan Rumble), so I mean I guess I understand that it's a bit annoying I'm not getting free stuff. But I also understand this is a really good move on Blizzard's part. I just wish they started this promotion earlier =P.
I dislike when devs do stuff like this too. I used to play 1 mobile game for around 8 months. I pre registered for it and was so active that I was basically the games #1 player. Well the devs kept nerfing players who play the game a lot and give more stuff to new players. It was absurd. I quit the game cause they didn't fix game breaking bugs, maybe they are fixed now but I gave them enough time to do so while I was still playing. Super sad, the game had so much potential and core game play was really good
Edit: So the post I'm replying got 6 likes and I got 6 dislikes? I just inteprented what he said to another game. Our point is the exact same.
Wait they’re giving away free decks to returning players? WTF?! I quit the game before Outland for 9 months, and I never got a free deck!

If you logged in at all at any point in those 9 months, even on accident, your account is voided for the free deck.
For people who only play to get the monthly card backs, it might actually be worth it to quit for 3 months to get a few legendary cards. Just have to hope that the next three card backs are lackluster.
If you get your August card back on August 1st, you can return on November 30th to get a free deck + November card back while only losing September and October card backs.
If you've been actively playing for 120 days you've more than made up the value of these decks just by getting gold from your daily quests. An active player shouldnt struggle with affording at least one meta deck.
Yugioh Duel Links gives current and returning players much more generous gifts. Besides a free deck they also provide a lot of gems you can use to buy packs or another deck, as well as numerous free cards and resources. Fucking Konami is more generous than ActiBlizz
But you have to play Yu-Gi-Oh, that's the main problem lol.
Damn, with all those nasty special summons, Yugi became a "If you have the correct hand you won at turn 2" game. The only thing they kept doing over the past few years was adding more and more ways to special summon big b0yz. They absolutely killed the game.
I want a free deck too -.-
