I'm very happy for you that you are having fun with it, I didn't say that people should play only-meta decks or something.
But here I am talking about the power-level and support of classes. No priest card until now support a viable deck even if priest struggles to remain in tier 3.
I still seen shaman-fans playing the class but I had close to 100% winrate against them because Shaman literally didn't get any support for months. It's nice to play your favourite class but gets frustrating pretty fast when everyone is stronger than you and you're at 40% winrate.
With what we've seen of the expansion until now, priest doesn't change his deck with at least ONE card, while DH and Warlock got 0 mana priest hero powers in the deck that activate strong cards like Soulshard Lapidary(even if DH and warlock already have some of the strongest decks in the meta right now). The dream of making eggs into 4/4's is nice, but this won't help any priest player get over at least gold.
In a murloc paladin deck:
High Abbess Alura + First Day of School into Tip the Scales
Better Prismatic Lens
or cast another First Day of School anyway xD
ffs blizzard... stop with this tempo priest non sense. if someone likes to play tempo, they can play rogue and ohter classes. please, keep priest control-oriented... thanks
They did it with alot of classes.. paladin and shaman went non-existent because of this "interesting experiments".
They are literally incompetent.
Control with spells that clean everything in a board in the own Autistic Priest turn? Again? No thanks. Game is way better than those Taunt Ress Autistics Plays that Priest invented all those years. Worse yet, Combo toxic priests?
Less Burn out, more Fun. I support 100% no Control braindeaddecks
The biggest issue with this card is it pretty much denies the ability to run any kind of single target spell removal. I mean, the card does specify "if possible" so I'm actually curious if a card like SW: Death would kill her since it's normally not possible to target her with it, or if it'd act more like Spellbender where it absorbs the spell anyway, effectively suiciding her. My guess is the latter but we'll find out soon enough.
If you can build a deck around her, it's very possible to cheap out some extremely powerful spells. A 4 mana Mass Resurrection with an extra body is obviously insanely powerful, even if the average minion brought back isn't all that strong. But, running priest without any single target removal? It's hard to imagine that deck ever working, but who knows?
In Paladin though I feel this card can find a home quite comfortably. Paladins just don't really have much single target removal and the few they have aren't actually run. This makes practically every single spell in your deck a good target for her. Even if you low roll, like with a Libram of Wisdom or Hand of A'dal, it's still damn good but occasionally, you're going to high roll a Libram of Hope and that's just crazy good. It may also give paladins incentives to run more spells that aren't currently seeing much play, such as Pharaoh's Blessing.
So right now, as has been pointed out quite a bit in these comments, it seems to fit Paladin better than it does Priest. I'll definitely experiment with Priest and cards like this that allow a player to cheat so many potentially powerful effects can often surprise people when someone comes up with a clever use that wasn't obvious at first. It's one of those cards that has the potential to have an entire deck built around it that allows for some incredibly broken, borderline unfair things to happen. It's also one of those cards that Blizzard has to carefully consider when releasing new spells for both classes. I honestly hope they didn't back themselves into a corner with design space since all it takes is one really powerful spell to make this card completely broken.
4 🌟 out of 5🌟
Great. Another wasted legendary spot for priest. Utter garbage card.
Paladin is worse off and much longer .... (yet another rubbish was taken for granted)
Only thing I can think of is basically a weird version of murloc pally.
You add the Quest (as it is a 1 mana spell that will not be in your deck anymore to mess with the chance of getting Librams)
You add High Abbess Alura
You add 2 Libram of Hopes
Mulligan hard for Alura and you get a 5 mana 3/6 and 8/8 with divine shield. Or turn 4 with coin.
Hmmm, has a very restrictive deck building condition attached to it. You can't run ANY targeted offensive spells lest they be wasted. Buffs obviously are going to work ridiculously well, and you can include other things like Consecrate or Holy Nova that have no risk of blowing this up.
I do wonder what happens if you get one of those priest spells that ends up copying this. Does the copy have a fresh spellburst ready to be activated? Or is the spellburst considered "spent" before the copy?
Wronchi has the best reveals, PERIOD. Also great addition to Paladin, instant inclusion in all libram variants.
Weird that they still didn't reveal any priest legendary minions.
Wandmaker + High Abbess Alura + Onyx Magescribe might enable a Big Spell Paladin.
Shadow Word: Pain
Does this remove the randomly cast spell from your deck or is it a copy of a spell from your deck?
Reading the card explains the card. Does the card say it copies? No, so it removes the spell from your deck.
I want to like this card, the effect is cool, but I am not sure.
Sure I can get a good swing early on getting BoK or Pharaoh's Blessing or Libram of Hope, but what if it's just Consecration or Libram of Justice? then the card has gone to waste?
Also to be noted that the spells she casts won't be given back by Liadrin(confirmed by devs), and most probably won't discount the new Devout Adept.
Will see, hope we get another good buff/minion.
That is a little bit confusing, Lady Liadrin says "all spells you've cast on friendly minions", this one casts a spell and has the keyword "cast" a spell but prefers targeting itself it he spell is target able (Which is a friendly character)? If that's the case then this just became 2x weaker than expected.
