About
The Hearthstone World Championship is the largest professional Hearthstone tournament in the world, where 16 exceptional card-slingers from around the globe come together to duel for glory, prizes, and the esteemed title of Hearthstone World Champion. This massive tournament is preceded by months of Ranked Play seasons, invitational tournaments, community tournaments, and Fireside Gatherings where players compete for points used to secure coveted spots in Regional Qualifier events.

The Americas, Europe, China, and Asia-Pacific regions will each have Regional Tournaments where eight of the most talented card-slingers from their respective regions will compete for four representative spots at the Hearthstone World Championship. The Americas region consists of North America and Latin America, while the Asia-Pacific region includes: Korea, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.

good sight !
I think it's really awesome that you guys keep doing this, since the interest is huge. I also like that everyone can participate! It would be really funny if someone got to top 16 without knowing of this :D
how do you know if youve earned points?
What if you are from Canada but you play in the europe servers? Reynad was american but he played in the europe regional qualifiers
I suspect none of these players will run any hyperaggro hunter/warlock decks because they know they are cheese.
They won't because they know they're not consistent :) Your opening hand is important in any deck, but you don't put a lot of effort in reaching the World Championship to bet on coining 2 undertakers out on turn 1
Interesting...
The 2014 tournament was for the largest part just the casters screaming their lungs out over all the top decks... 'How will Firebat be able to deal with those two Molten giants? OH BUT HE TOP DECKS HIS BGH! And he even has a brewmaster to kill both the giants! Such skills! Such amazing plays! Firebat goes to the finals, what a hero!
Edit: Before i get more downvotes, ^that^ was obviously not that serious. i know you can increase your odds with skill, and its definitely not all about luck. But players who have reached 'World Cup level' of play pretty much maxed out their odds, and it's not that fun to see a player win very important games just because they draw the right card at the right time.
Haha made me laugh the comment :D
Luck played a role as well but with pure luck you do not qualify to the WCS and not win it as well.
haha I know you can definitely increase the odds with skill, but at the 'pro level' of play, most players have pretty much maxed-out their odds. You won't reach the World championship just with luck, but once you're good enough to get there in the first place, you need RNGesus on your side to win it :)
I think I'm still quite a ways off from being a tournament player! Good luck to those who qualify!
I'd like to know what rank you need to be to actually get a point to qualify for regional championships....
Top 16 by the end of a season as last year I assume.
I'd like to know which season will be the first to actually matter points-wise.
Edit: nvm, should read more carefully :)
