The card is bad like most shaman cards. The problem is Blizzard keeps thinking of fair value but with overload it diminishes the card badly. This card in reality costs 8 and NOBODY would play it for 8,so it is not even close to being anything more than a "common" card.
Shaman needed that "cram session" card they gave to Mage that did NOT need the card draw being given Mana Cyclone and Arcane intellect AND Evocation...sigh,balance..where?
Is Shaman suppose to use Voracious reader a neutral card? This team needs to start giving Shaman some great cards like they do with ALL of the other classes and NOT nerf it 3 days later.I laughed at all the Shaman nerfs becausee hardly anyone brings Shaman to tournaments, like GM NOBODY brought shaman this last week, that says the whole story of how poorly this team balances the game.
Oh remember that card draw unbalance i mentioned with Mage, yeah so happens Mage was the most represented class in GM this past week.
So why are things so obvious and yet this team fails at their job all the time? One reason >>>too many classes, they get messed up trying to fit in the bare minimum cards into now 10 classes. With this many classes we should be seeing 400+ card sets and far less Legendary cards.
Come to think of it, this has to be one of the most interesting cards revealed from design standpoint. It's choose one card with overload as payment if you choose the better part. You are not deciding between two separate abilities you just make the one stronger and can choose, I love it. Wish more cards would be there like this.
This better give you seven treants when you cast it with the quest
Good for Totem Shaman, which is the only new deck type they're pushing hard enough that it might legitimately see play. Okay for token druid, but I don't think putting +1 mana and +1 treant onto Force of Nature will make that deck strong again. I doubt the rush effect will see much play outside of emergency situations considering the heavy overload penalty, in which case, if you're using this reactively to deal 8 damage to a minion for 6 mana and 2 overload, you're probably just going to lose.
Overload, Choose One, Treants, Totems. I'm just stunned at how creative they were at mashing together so many traits from druid and shaman into one card
Thanks God treant druid gets some love, but I'm surprised they didn't gave us a better 3 mana card than BEEEEEEES!
Also, this card pales in comparison with glowfly swarm even though it has a synergy with Goru, but the 2 mana overload just for rush makes it a little bit underwhelming...
So do they get Totem AND Treant Buffs?
Druids being overloaded is so much better than it being Shamans
NPC: You're overloaded!
Shaman: It's ok, I have some synergy with that later
Druid: Is that when I have 10 mana crystals instead of 11?
Well this is a new take on Choose One. It will summon the Treant Golems regardless, but you can choose to give them rush or not, the cost being overload. This expansion is just bringing out so many interesting ideas with the dual class cards.
But with Fandral Staghelm it will be just second option. That means you lose flexibility instead of cool bonus. That sucks.
why would it be just the second option? The first option summons four treants. The second option summons four treants with rush and overloads you. With fandral you should summon 6.
Very versatile! Cool! I feel better for pre-ordering with almost every reveal!
Can we start getting optional overload on purely shaman cards going forward?
Interesting idea but I doubt it, the concept of conditional (optional) action is unique to Druid (choose one cards).
What is this name Blizzard.ahahahahaha.
(Kappa)
Damn... so far every card they revealed to be Shaman or dual with Druid have overload 2.
What about Groundskeeper?
I should specify more, that cards that have overload, have overload 2. I think some could have lower overload effect. But you are right.
How does this interact with druid quest?
