this is basically a targeted destory a minion to a class that should not have a card like this
8 mana destroy a minion (if it's not blocked by taunt) and leave a 3/9 with a powerful aeffect on board is....different. Seems expensive but...maybe decent if it can remove a big body
How does it help you WIN though? It barely does anything to the opponent if it sticks. A purely control minion that can only control the board cannot cost 8 and be playable!

If it sticks it can kill something big next turn. Or insure they don't play anything big. It's probably not good. But it's different enough that we can't be absolutely sure yet.
How are people gonna say this is a weak card? Compare it to priest 6 mana dragon 4/4 which MIGHT kill a minion. This is 2 mana more, but it basically guarantees a minion kill and you then get a 3/9 body with the potential to do it again to a big minion. It basically has to be removed before you can play something else big. You're crazy if you don't think this sees a lot of play.
The issue is that the Meta has a lot of Taunts which get in the way of reaching those critical minions. The way I believe Blizzard is trying to make this card work is with Duel! and some cost-reduction card for Paladin / Warrior. Everything else seems to fall in place as we have seen First Day of School which give you early game control to the new weapon.
Major difference in your comparison is that 6 mana 4/4 is a common card. Legendaries are supposed to be significantly better and it's not really. I don't think it's that bad of a card, but it's really underwhelming. Especially when Paladin was already fairly weak.

The meta does not have a lot of taunts. And it's looking like Scholomance meta won't either.
The last time Paladin got a good Legendary was when Un'Goro BELONGED TO THE TITANS..
I mean this follows the theme of a lot of Paladin cards. Equality, Sunkeeper Talrim, Libram of Justice, Subdue, Eadric the Pure, Keeper of Uldaman.

Why is this getting downvotes?
To make this map legendary, you need to add the following text to it: "every minion that attacks this minion set their health and attack to 3" . My English is not the best, correct me if necessary.
They should also taunt him, otherwise he would be completely ignored given his non-aggressive statistics ... (but it will still be a bad card especially considering all 1/1 with rush that become 3/3) I would have much preferred a pre-nerf tinkmaster overspark for the Paladin...! (this would be beautiful and fun)
The 1/1s with rush don't become 3/3s. The stats only change when this is attacking.
I like the idea of this card but why 8 mana!? When you go to the collection builder it's extremely clear which slot is lacking... why couldn't this be printed as a 6 mana card, there is gaping void for 6mana cards the size of TEXAS! This is exactly the kind of card you would need at that point in a game, it's right around turn 6 that this would be most useful. By turn 8, HUGE swing turns are happening and the game is often coming to a close, you can't be playing something this tame on turn 8...
