"A while back" is the key here. I don't think they can continue on without printing effects like this. Besides, it's healthy - there are more and more hand-related mechanics that the opponent has no interaction with.
Though, I do agree, this card looks broken - the aspect of opponent redrawing just 4 cards, even if they have a full hand, needs to go. If it weren't for that, this would have been an extra interesting and very deep card, that can be used in loads of cool ways. As it stands, it looks like a no-brainer auto-play in many games.
Agreed, this is the dumbest card I've ever seen printed. 4 mana draw 4 for a class that already has disgustingly good card draw, and also breaks opponents' combos and makes them "undraw" cards. Sorry, but that's just... retarded. Didn't we just Hall of Fame Divine Favor because it was too effective card draw for an agro class? This literally outclasses it on all counts.
Just imagine:
I was genuinely excited about this expansion up until this point, we've seen some cool cards, the two-class cards seem well designed, even Spellburst seems like a cool mechanic. Now about 90% of my excitement is gone. I can already tell that if Demon Hunter is viable in the next year and a half, playing any control or combo deck will be a task fit for a masochist. And let's face it, an aggressive Demon Hunter is almost guaranteed to be viable every expansion. They already have all the pieces they need, and whatever gets nerfed will easily be replaced with new class or neutral cards coming up.
I'd be fine with this card if we were in a control meta, where control decks were dominating, but the meta is already mostly agro decks, I'm really not excited to play control deck in a super aggro meta and then keep getting screwed because Blizzard just decided to print a card that counters literally every combo deck that ever existed.
Dumb. I guess Blizzard figured "hey, everyone seems to really looooove playing against the same Demon Hunter deck all the damn time, lets make sure they get even more of that next expansion!"
after shuffling a 1 time or 3 times invoked Galakrond, they are gonna go to 0 and 2
Weak card
This man will laugh so much if what says is true. Obviously, this seems like 4 mana draw 4, burn your opponent's hand, but who knows. Maybe there will be faster/better cards to play instead of this one considering that this can sometimes have the drawback of drawing your opponent cards.
That's not even the point. This card is incredibly unfun.
It's like if you print a card that's... let's say a 5 mana 1/1 with "Battlecry: if your opponent's deck contains four 6-drops, they lose the game." That card is actually terrible, it will rarely do anything at all, but you're still gonna run into situations where you're playing the game and your opponent randomly generates it, and you just happen to have 4 6-drops, so you lose. You don't lose because you played worse, or because your opponent played well, you don't even lose because his deck is intricately put together to counter yours, you just lose because you run a certain type of deck.
That's what Glide is. Except that unlike - my example - it's really not bad at all. At worst it's a 4 mana draw 4, which is already a premium quality card. At best it completely destroys your opponent's chances of winning.
The card punishes you... for playing a control deck. You can't play around it, and it directly punishes you for being smart, using as few resources as you can, etc. You know, playing a control deck like you're supposed to. It takes away the one advantage control decks have - number of answers. Agro decks sacrifice flexibility for consistency. They have a ton of low cost cards to ensure a good curve, but they run out of them, and if they do, a control deck wins, because they can pick and choose just the right answers for the situation, if they survived long enough. That's what agro vs control has always been at it's core.
This card is a direct negation of that. It punishes you for playing smart, for not wasting cards when they might be more effective later, and it gives a notoriously aggressive class even more card draw in the process. Nothing about this is good. It messes with your hand in a major way. Not only will it often just "undraw" cards you invested resources into drawing, it will also randomize your hand, making it impossible for you to set up plays, since you never know when your plan will be randomly changed BY YOUR OPPONENT. This is NOT okay.
I don't know how many countless games against a control deck where they're holding 8-10 cards by the time turn 5 hits, so effectively you remove 4-6 cards from the opponent and the Demon Hunter draws 2-3 cards. It's so broken. The control deck will be out of resources and top decking while the Demon Hunter is tapping into their insane card replenishing. I can't believe they made this card.
why this fucker firebat didn't show his card?
Well, i think, they decided to nerf it two times a row just before presentation. And still delayed because weren't sure if that was enough.
Cause Firebat is always late on his card reveals, i don't know why they call him after so many times
Very strong tech card vs control. Both reduce control hand and draw 4 more card. It is dream for agro.
look at this magic boys: Corsair Cache draws Ancharrr, how about noo??🖐🖐😂😂🤣
The next meta will be just aggro smorc shit. Thanks Bliizard. Are they even reading forums like heathpwn? I never saw somebody talking good about DH. Everybody just wants to nerve that fricking abomination. Damn. Screw you blizzard.
Was just wondering... do buffed or mana discounted cards keep their buffs and discounts when shuffled back in the deck?
Nope.
That's what people is ignoring. And also, the fact that this card destroys any Altruis combo...
Depends, Paladin Libram of Hope would remain discounted Aldor Truthseeker says "this game" at the end which denotes every instance of it. Cards with enchantments or buffs will probably lose them unless there is a mechanic we don't know about.
reverts any change that isnt an aura effect
Early on in Ashes, Warlock and their Sacrificial Pact hunted Demon Hunters.
Now, Demon Hunter is going to use Glide to hunt Quest Warlocks.
This is pure anti-Questlock tech.
This would be played even at 7 cost. Maybe even 8.
