That was the last possibility at the moment for cheaper packs after they ended the Amazon Coin Promotion..

To those of you indignant over this news, please consider the fact that you're directing your ire at the wrong target.  Don't get mad at Apple--get mad at the government that imposed the tax on you in the first place!  How is it Apple's responsibility to pay your government's taxes for you?  Passing them onto you is what they should be doing.  VATs (and high taxes in general) are an abomination created by out-of-control governments that have an unquenchable thirst for your money.  You guys demonize the private company, but give those who created the taxes a complete pass.  Unbelievable. 

Well I think if the tax is passed on in the form of a price increase across all platforms a lot of people won't buy anymore packs...

Actually, it got cheaper on iOS in Russia. Even cheaper than from PC. A week ago, the prices were at 3 175 rub for 40 packs. In both Blizzard and Appstore. But few days ago, Russian AppStore decreased all the pricing by about 10%. So today 40x packs costs 2990rub via AppStore and still 3 175 via PC.

Thank goodness that you can log in via PC, or Android and purchase at the same rate... then switch back to iOS after your purchase. Now, I would imagine, that soon... Android will do the same thing. 

Remember, this only impacts purchases on iOS. If you are in any of the impacted areas, log in via PC and boom... same prices.

Why are everyone saying that this sucks for people playing on iOS? It hasn't become more expensive to pay on iPad, at least not in Norway, where I live. The Norwegian Krone has plummeted as of late. Because Apple has fixed rates, converted into local currency, before this change it was 20% cheaper for me to buy packs on the iPad then the PC. This is simply done to adjust for the local economy changes in the countries in question, making the prices closer to what they are in for example USD. 

Tbh Apple has a really strange system for handling currency on the app store. Instead of basing everything on for example the american dollar and converting on the fly, they have fixed rates for each currency (see Mrrraggglhlhghghlgh's comment), in different price tiers, that don't change with the value of currencies. 

The world is bigger than Norway. Now think of other that do not have NOK or other kroner and is forced to use Eur? it is not "that" hard to understand why they not happy with it. 

Ah just ignore him, people who use apple obviously make bad decisions.

All I'm saying is that this is not necessarily a "price increase" for all the regions in question. It is a adjustment made in light of economic developments. As for people that use Euro as their currency, its a change made to compensate for the weak state of the euro, and its not that apple are being cheap, its rather that blizzard are being nice and have not increased the euro price on the deskptop. Everyone paying in euro on a desktop is benefiting compared to people paying in USD, since the dollar is much stronger currently.

My point of view is therefore that I don't think apple is to blame for this, but rather that Blizzard should be given props for sticking with the prices they set, even though the currencies have changed.

So in the UK, the price per pack is now LESS if you buy 15 packs than if you buy 40 packs? What idiot came up with that?

Well, hopefully there aren't many people whose only pack-buying option is through Apple.

Not sure I understand. Maybe ive missed a news story at some point. Why is the price being raised in the US if this is only effecting regional markets in EU, Canada, and Norway?

The US pricing is used as the baseline, which is why it doesn't show an increase on the table.

There is also a new rule in the euro appstore which say all prices have to end in 99c, which obviously contributed to the price increase.

Am I right that nothing's stopping anyone from logging on from a PC, buying the packs he wants, then log back on their mobile device and playing those packs? If so...  what's the point, Apple? Really silly. Basicly if they got any percentage from packs sold until now, they won't get any after this because people will rather log on a desktop computer to buy those packs (apart from a select few, supercasual players).
