All The Demon Hunter Nerfs - Now Live!
After making an announcement earlier today, Blizzard followed up with a post with the details of the Demon Hunter Nerfs. Several cards had mana changes and Aldrachi Warblades had a durability change. There were also offering rate changes to a whole host of Arena cards. These changes are live in game now. Read all the details below!
Quote from BlizzardHey everyone,
Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be keeping an eye on the power level of Demon Hunter. Our goal is to make changes when necessary in order to get Demon Hunter to where we believe it should be. Today, we’ll be applying the following balance updates to a few Demon Hunter cards in a server-side patch (meaning you won’t have to download anything):
- Skull of Gul'dan – Mana cost increased from 5 to 6.
- Imprisoned Antaen – Mana cost increased from 5 to 6.
- Eye Beam – Outcast Mana cost increased from 0 to 1.
- Aldrachi Warblades – Durability decreased from 3 to 2.
We wanted to get these changes out the door today, and in doing so you will only see the new stats for these cards—displayed in both red and green—in matches, not in your Collection. The red and green numbers will return to white and the cards will be updated in your Collection with a data-only patch that we’re expecting to deploy before the end of the day tomorrow.
For Arena, we’re making changes today that will see Demon Hunter class card offering rates decreased until we’re able to properly address the class with more accurate micro-adjustments in a future patch. The following cards have had their offering rates reduced in Arena:

Actually, LOSING first will place you are the top of the board and give you first place (will still lower your mmr), and winning will give you 8th place and increase your mmr. FFs how could they fuckup THAT badly.
No, you won't. The system doesn't account for your actual collection, but wether or not you ever had the cards. Disenchanted cards are still seen as owned by you.
Actually, until the dust refund period is over, they simply doesn't appear in the new packs. You can open them from packs after the dust refund period is over.
Is this 100% sure? Did blizz say that somewhere?
Unfortunately, TheVortex is right - from the string https://www.hearthpwn.com/news/7334-hall-of-fame-duplicate-protection-returning-player:
Yep, that is what I was thinking about. I didn't have the link at hand, though, so could only work from memory. Glad that I didn't misremember :)
Two days in the expansion and a nerf already. Did they test this class AT ALL before releasing it?
That works as intended and explained somewhere: The system counts which cards you have ever gotten for the no duplicate rule. The main goal of that is that you can safely disenchant cards you don't want to have in your collection, and you won't get them again (until you have every card of that rarity). As a side effect, you won't automatically get the nerfed cards back as well.
Which is a good thing. Otherwise, you could disenchant them again, open a few packs to get them again, dienchant, rinse, repeat, for a LOT more dust then intended.
Good, good way to go. Stll I am going back to the game, playing these other "new" cards after Blizzard decides to fix this new completely balanced class.
Oh, what have you become Blizzard, creating next "Pirate Warrior" in orher to sell stuff.
Impact bold font is the only real way to leave a comment.
I would say more like to highlight the truth ... Which can be salty and bitter for someone as I can see.
Ok .. see you next week for another nerfs :)
They have to remove the big one from the game or set both skull and him to 7 mana min...
and not Forget to watch over the 4/4 who reduce the next démon two, play for 5 mana a 6/7 that deal 6 every turn or a big one with 10 damage on turn 6 or 7 is really problematic (At least that big one have nothing to do in the game)
Well, Demon Hunter is a whole class, so they have to leave him some good plays. I think what would really fix DH is just dtotally deleting or fixing Antaen and School of Gul'dan. At least they see which cards are realy a problem.
I tried to be smart and disenchanted all nerfed rares. They said that we can't get dupes. I opened 2 packs and I just got some priest rares, without dk rares in collection... I have cards so should only get these missing ones :(
This is awesome news for that dust refund! It just goes to show that you shouldn't dust duplicates straight after opening packs when an expansion is launched. I honestly thought I would wait at least a couple of weeks before dusting them, but this came earlier than expected ^^.
Much dust incoming :D
You do realize, that one of the cards is basic (uncraftable), another is from the initiate set (uncraftable as well) and only the two rares actually deliver the full refund? So, "much dust" seems exaggerated.
True. But those 2 refunded cards got me the equivalent of a legendary minon, so I'm happy with that.
No offense, but how on earth did you not see this coming?
Don't want to mirror match. It's obvious as hell everyone would jump on DH for atleast a month or even longer.
Not enough.
i spent £69.99 on this expansion and after 1 day I have called it quits until at least next month. I don’t care about the money but I am not willing to play mirror matches for a month.
Blizzard seriously dropped the ball and will lose a lot of dedicated players over this.
With it being a brand new class in hearthstone for the first time ever it should be expected to play against a lot of DH's. I don't think it's fair to blame Bliz for there being a player base interested in trying new things
