All The Demon Hunter Nerfs - Now Live!
After making an announcement earlier today, Blizzard followed up with a post with the details of the Demon Hunter Nerfs. Several cards had mana changes and Aldrachi Warblades had a durability change. There were also offering rate changes to a whole host of Arena cards. These changes are live in game now. Read all the details below!
Quote from BlizzardHey everyone,
Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be keeping an eye on the power level of Demon Hunter. Our goal is to make changes when necessary in order to get Demon Hunter to where we believe it should be. Today, we’ll be applying the following balance updates to a few Demon Hunter cards in a server-side patch (meaning you won’t have to download anything):
- Skull of Gul'dan – Mana cost increased from 5 to 6.
- Imprisoned Antaen – Mana cost increased from 5 to 6.
- Eye Beam – Outcast Mana cost increased from 0 to 1.
- Aldrachi Warblades – Durability decreased from 3 to 2.
We wanted to get these changes out the door today, and in doing so you will only see the new stats for these cards—displayed in both red and green—in matches, not in your Collection. The red and green numbers will return to white and the cards will be updated in your Collection with a data-only patch that we’re expecting to deploy before the end of the day tomorrow.
For Arena, we’re making changes today that will see Demon Hunter class card offering rates decreased until we’re able to properly address the class with more accurate micro-adjustments in a future patch. The following cards have had their offering rates reduced in Arena:

you won't get them again if you DE
at all? okay i will craft them back(
Nerfing after 1-2 weeks is a good reaction time, nerfing after 2 days is just bad testing. And the way this is implemented is horrible! Finding out a card got nerfed not when building my deck but in the accual game WTF blizz?
I would actually think they knew about this before and were prepared to push this given the reaction time
they started doing heavy testing not so long ago, and some of these cards they knew were problematic, they just werent sure how much, and it's different when you have even 1000 people testing(which I highly doubt they do), and when millions of people play it
the data over the first day confirmed what they were suspecting so they pushed the nerf asap for which, again, they were prepared
I think they wanted people to have some fun with DH and they knew that during frist few weeks most people will be playing withd DH as it's the first new class in HS
You don't need 1000 people or even 100 people testing to know a 5 mana 10/6 deal 10 damage is broken. I get that adding a new class for the first time is a balancing nightmare, but come on changes before the first weekend? There are some more casual players who didn't even get to open packs yet or play more than a few games and its nerfed? I'm not saying the actual nerfs are bad or unnecessary, but doing them so fast and announcing more soon just feels like false advertising. And the fact you dont see the changes in colection manager makes it even worse.
lol. trash game
Source?
Not enough, still too OP. The whole class is just fundamentally broken and OP by itself. You can't give a class everything - card draw, aggro minions, healing... YOU JUST CANT.
These nerfs will take make it harder to win, but all Demon Hunter decks will still float around 60-70%. That is unless people counters it from now on, and that is not unlikely. I would nerf once more so
Priestess is a 7 mana 4/4 same effect. It will make it way easier to kill
Antaen only hits enemy minions with the random damage. It will make Demon Hunter better at control, but less OP, and you can play around it
Skull decrease the cost with 2 Mana
The 1 Mana 2/2 should be either 2 Mana or a 1/2.
The rushing 3/2 should be 2/2
And they should add a Mana to most of the board clears
How about nerfing Darkest Cancer in wild? Sorry, I meant Darkest Hour...
Guess no one cares about wild
Also quest mage and mech pala probably
You are 100% right. Wild is a side mode for overpowered decks. No one cares about wild.
AHAHAHAHA.... still not enough
Idiots!
For so many reasons :( :(
legit nerfs, i made legend yesterday in the easiest season of all time :D ty blizzard
These changes were much needed mainly because of wild format. Baku Hunter is seriously broken. More broken than secret mage level, or pre-nerf snip-snap warlock
Priestess is much more effective than Geddon in way more situations. You can play priestess on empty board and will have huge effect. Has 2 more hp than Geddon. The barron cannot hit face for more than 2 dmg and you cannot play 2 Geddons in your deck.
I was a little confused about the skull of guldan 6 mana red ingame without a message... but good changes, DH seemed too strong
Somehow the updates broke battlegrounds. so many bugs
Yeah, somehow health can go into negatives now, and the losers are at the top of the scoreboard, lol. And dealing damage to already dead shows as HEALING them.
