All The Demon Hunter Nerfs - Now Live!
After making an announcement earlier today, Blizzard followed up with a post with the details of the Demon Hunter Nerfs. Several cards had mana changes and Aldrachi Warblades had a durability change. There were also offering rate changes to a whole host of Arena cards. These changes are live in game now. Read all the details below!
Quote from BlizzardHey everyone,
Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be keeping an eye on the power level of Demon Hunter. Our goal is to make changes when necessary in order to get Demon Hunter to where we believe it should be. Today, we’ll be applying the following balance updates to a few Demon Hunter cards in a server-side patch (meaning you won’t have to download anything):
- Skull of Gul'dan – Mana cost increased from 5 to 6.
- Imprisoned Antaen – Mana cost increased from 5 to 6.
- Eye Beam – Outcast Mana cost increased from 0 to 1.
- Aldrachi Warblades – Durability decreased from 3 to 2.
We wanted to get these changes out the door today, and in doing so you will only see the new stats for these cards—displayed in both red and green—in matches, not in your Collection. The red and green numbers will return to white and the cards will be updated in your Collection with a data-only patch that we’re expecting to deploy before the end of the day tomorrow.
For Arena, we’re making changes today that will see Demon Hunter class card offering rates decreased until we’re able to properly address the class with more accurate micro-adjustments in a future patch. The following cards have had their offering rates reduced in Arena:

1 mana nerf is a huge thing, don't think is not.
Shaman was the perfect example.
5 manas invoke twice minion = Shaman OP, Tier S unbeatable, 80% of the ladder.
6 manas invoke twice minion = Shaman trash tier unplayable.
It's been 2 days and I already Feel The Hatred of 10,000 Years
At least Skull of Guldan is now only ever equal to Nourish during the worst case scenario.
Lol hey, they tried
¿Just that? Incompetent devs.
The mana cost was'nt the main problem. It was the card design itself, the overtuned powercreep of them... not just the mana cost. You looks ridiculous.
Agreed. Antaen should cost 9 and Priestest should only deal 4.
Both Imprisoned Antaen and Priestess of Fury need to be heavily looked at. It is VERY hard for some classes to deal with all that damage that they proc. Antaen has 10 fing attack ffs. You will lose if you can't deal with it then.
And dont forget Priestess of Fury. Hey, if you can't deal with her she will make 18 dmg! What a fun and interactive card.
The only reason Priestess of Fury [/card] is considered "OP" is because [card]Imprisoned Antaen exists. I'm not saying Priestess of Fury [/card] isn't a strong card, It's weaker than [card]Ragnaros the Firelord but stronger than the average card. If Imprisoned Antaen wasn't literally worse than Flamewreathed Faceless or Ultimate Infestation, Priestess of Fury would just be considered a pretty good card.
I agree. I mean, I can deal with Priestess of fury, but I have to deal with 2 antaen and another priestess. That is a TON of free damage, it's just insane.
Antaen and Priestess could be 9/5 and 5/6 respectively, and still probably quite nice.
Bless my heart. It's another player who thinks Ragnaros the Firelord is better.
Don't get me wrong, Priestess of Fury is a legitimately great card. Cinderstorm on a stick is really nice, and a slight nerf wouldn't be inappropriate. But it's also really easy for her to entirely whiff on a late-game board. Rag's 8 damage shots could hit the wrong target, but almost always kill something.
However, why choose? If in wild, just run both!
Yep agreed. The nerf wasn't hard enough, in addition to the mana cost increase they also had to reduce the Outcast mana reduction on cards drawn from 3 to 2.
Is this a joke? These nerfs wont change shit.
Careful, I got down voted to hell for saying that. What you mean is "great job, I Love the changes. Thanks blizzard!"
ThEsE NErfS wOnt ChAngE SHiT, yea that's why dh is now 4th class based on wr
It still blows my mind that the skull has cost reduction. I get that it has to be the left or the right card, but that isn't a very hard think to make happen.
Warblade should not exist, if they really want to give them a weakness there shouldn't be a 3 mana weapon that heals from 4 up to 22 health
Spectral Cutlass was a 4 mana weapon that healed from 4 up to 50 health, what's your point
in a deck that is far too slow without burst
