Demon Hunter Nerfs Coming Today - Blizzard Developers Tweet
In a series of tweets Blizzard devs today announced that Balance changes were coming to Demon Hunter as soon as later TODAY. They initially have their eye on the following cards: Skull of Gul'dan, Imprisoned Antaen, Eye Beam, and Aldrachi Warblades. Balance changes are also planned for Arena mode and even further Balance changes are planned for late next week. Read all the information in the tweets below!
Quote from BlizzardWe're planning on making some balance changes that should go out today. Cards we're looking at are Skull of Gul'dan, Imprisoned Antaen, Eye Beam, and Aldrachi Warblades. We'll send out the final info from our official channels when it's ready.
Quote from BlizzardWe're also making some adjustments to Demon Hunter in Arena. We don't have enough data to make large scale micro-adjustments, but we're opting to make balance changes by hand while we wait for the normal full patch to take place.
Quote from BlizzardAs for Demon Hunter class balance, we'd like to keep the class-defining pieces more powerful while pulling back on the cards that make DH feel like it's good at everything.
Quote from BlizzardThe expectation should be that there will be a lot of balance iteration over the next few weeks. We'll be making changes a little more frequently until we feel that DH is in a fun, unique, and balanced state.
Quote from BlizzardWe have another patch planned for late next week that will address any further changes we want to make to Constructed, Battlegrounds, or Arena.

Skull of Gul'dan (can't correct typo anymore)
As weird as it sounds, what they're doing makes a lot of sense. When you release a new class, nobody will know how to play it, meaning that whatever happens, people are going to be noodling around for a bit like newborn deer. More to the point, it's not gonna be easy to reliably release something that's truly balanced right out the gate.
The problem is, if you release a weak version of the class, what you'll get is a bunch of people trying it, deciding they don't like it, and then not touching it. Then, when you get around to buffing it to a balanced state, people just... aren't playing it. That means less data, and less ability to tell whether the class is actually good, or whether it's still too weak.
By starting in an overtuned state, everyone plays it, and you can pretty immediately figure out what needs nerfing.
Leastways, that's about what I've heard happen in DotA, and I'm assuming Blizzard is doing something like that here.
excelent way of thinking. and people will always complain, so fuck that.
I actually never looked at that made, great observation here. Indeed starting from an OP state is much better in terms of balancing because you know what to "Hit" first, but from a weak stand point it requires many tweaks and even after that it could lead to nothing.
This is pretty much what they do in Heroes of the Storm. The new heroes are always a bit overtuned for that very reason. The problem here though is that DH is, well, a LOT overtuned.
I think Blizz should have open or closed HS betas. That would fix a lot of these problems
Look at Skull of Guldan and tell me if its a bit overtuned
Goddamn are you a smoothbrain
That might be true!
For ignorants down voting my comment without knowing that what I said its true :

I'm too lazy to search for the video, since as far as I remember there is one, but go ahead and do that if you want 1000% proof.
They are working 3 sets in advance. So I stand my case : How they released DH class in this mess, is beyond me!
I dont know why DH has a huge amount of card draw...Poor priest without Cleric actually cant dig into his deck, the only class card which draws a card is Mass dispel. Thats so poor. I hope they realize that priest is almost unplayable :/
Sigh..
Yesterday Hearthpwn:
“Demon Hunter is a balanced class, I don’t see any problem of it.”
”T5 will not nerf them bababala”
”your deck just suck I got 4:0 DH l2p balabala”
KeK
I came to check on my first post, and apparently the only thing wronger than me is Hitler himself.
You've got balls, this site will find the dumbest ways to ban me
I really dont understand the logic of this class.
Its like "you play the tempo value of a rogue, the smork damage of an hunter". Like they spook about the class identity, but Dh is a mixture of all the classes we already have.
If i want to play a specific type of deck with a specific set of mechanics, ill go for that class. Nowadays, you want to play rogue?.hunter? Warlock? Nah boi, you will go for demon hunter, cuz its all of these classes in 1
I agree that the hit to Eye Beam and the warblades seem a little strange. I feel that Satyr Overseer and Altruis the Outcast are more obvious. And the only reason I didn't list Kayn Sunfury is because he is supposed to be the flashy OP finisher. At least for a while.
They will over-nerf everything like they did with Shaman last year. It went from dominant to trash tier immediately.
I seriously hope they don't. I love playing DH
I hope they do, 1 day at that wr is enough..
I hope they nerf it to the ground. The class is boring and toxic. It's like an amalagam from all clases, it lacks of identity.
The big problem with Demon Hunter is since its a fundamentally flawed class (it can only play two ways, aggro or mid-range), it needs generically strong cards to make it viable.
Its probably why almost all Demon Hunter Cards are overtuned, compare any five drop to Antaen for example, even without the ten damage effect its overtuned stats will carry it to viability as its straight-up better than any card within its tier.
Almost every card they have is overtuned to an extent, the 1 mana 2/2 that gains attack, the 3 mana 4/2 that summons 2/2 for each time you attack.
And unlike a lot of class cards Demon Hunter has cards that COMPLETELY synergizes with their hero power.
Which, not only renders any of the non-classes useless, it gives them an insane advantage out of the gate with the press of a single butt o.
Compare to the other classes (barring Warrior and Rogue and Hunter) who have almost no cards in standard that synergize with their hero power.
Battlefiend scaling off a (1) Mana hero power and Wrathscale Naga machine gunning everything down is just depressing. Why not look at that too?
I am so glad they are nerfing Imprisoned Antaen and Skull of Gul'dan. Dunno why they are bothering with stuff like Eye Beam and Aldrachi Warblades as they are pretty much DH's only viable forms of sustain, perhaps a -1 durability on the weapon and the outcast effect on Eye Beam makes it cost one instead of 0.
Now Imprisoned Antaen feels so oppressive when paired with Priestess of Fury (also probably deserves a small stat nerf) as you're getting punished hard regardless of your board state and there's almost nothing you can do to stablize back after that. The first ever version of Rafaam had an option for a similar effect, but at the cost of something like 19 mana?
Skull of Gul'dan should honestly be a legendary spell, flavor and lore wise, but oh well, that change is unlikely to happen. The cost reduction is too insane considering how easy it is to fulfill the requirements.
