Demon Hunter Nerfs Coming Today - Blizzard Developers Tweet
In a series of tweets Blizzard devs today announced that Balance changes were coming to Demon Hunter as soon as later TODAY. They initially have their eye on the following cards: Skull of Gul'dan, Imprisoned Antaen, Eye Beam, and Aldrachi Warblades. Balance changes are also planned for Arena mode and even further Balance changes are planned for late next week. Read all the information in the tweets below!
Quote from BlizzardWe're planning on making some balance changes that should go out today. Cards we're looking at are Skull of Gul'dan, Imprisoned Antaen, Eye Beam, and Aldrachi Warblades. We'll send out the final info from our official channels when it's ready.
Quote from BlizzardWe're also making some adjustments to Demon Hunter in Arena. We don't have enough data to make large scale micro-adjustments, but we're opting to make balance changes by hand while we wait for the normal full patch to take place.
Quote from BlizzardAs for Demon Hunter class balance, we'd like to keep the class-defining pieces more powerful while pulling back on the cards that make DH feel like it's good at everything.
Quote from BlizzardThe expectation should be that there will be a lot of balance iteration over the next few weeks. We'll be making changes a little more frequently until we feel that DH is in a fun, unique, and balanced state.
Quote from BlizzardWe have another patch planned for late next week that will address any further changes we want to make to Constructed, Battlegrounds, or Arena.

thank god
Imprisoned Antaen is like Arch-Thief Rafaam + his Timepiece of Horror but with 1/4 of the mana cost ;)
Wow. That's a great comparison.
I did not beieve when I saw Hearthstone in a top 10 of games with the most toxic community. Now I know the reason. What the actual fuck, I ask. You guys first create a milion threads about "OMG how broken is DH?!" and now you are accusing Blizzard when they respond to it on day 2!? I love Hearthstone, but the community really starts getting on my nerves.
You clearly didn't understand my point. I wrote that all the guys complaining about the nerfs are irritating me. The nerfs are obviously good as there s currently no room for my fav Paladin ;)
These folks pretend to get a whole new class, crazy-ass mechanics with perfect balance in the less time possible. Dear god, it's like if they never played any online competitive game. You can't predict effectively the flow of the game. This time they did tested the whole expansion with pros (guess what, this community complained about it), and, although DH was strong, it didn't seem broken.
I don't know why they keep playing. I just hope they left the game.
you think HS community is toxic ? try and go play LoL .... you'll abandon on day 2 ^^
aren't they like, gonna nerf the 1 mana 2/2 that scales?
Right after the expansion came out i started playing my own demon hunter deck. Wanted to play until i lost a game and got to 17-0 (diamond 3) before i lost my first game.
So yeah, nerfs were really needed.
its been 1 day and 4 hours...
Everyone knew this was going to happen. Why bother releasing the shit as is? So you can nerf it to farm up votes? How about not creating your own pr stunt
To me their rapid response to day one suggests that they knew Demon Hunter was overturned, just not how much or which cards were the biggest problems. So doing a quick balance change was the plan all along.
How can they even tell? It's been 2 days.
And most people playing DH have been facing people playing DH. It's new, so everyone wants to take it for a test run. I think I saw other classes like, twice.
Skull of Gul'dan is broken as hell. If they fix that and Aldrachi Warglaives, that would help a lot. It's simply too much value and too much healing. I don't know why anyone rated Aldrachi Warglaives so low. I've seen DHs restore almost their full health from it.
Every DH is playing against DH because DH is just nuts and no other class can come even close to DH's power level. The brutal combination of card draw, raw damage and control is the holy grail of Hearthstone decks. It has everything, it's cheap and powerful.
@Euth: No, every DH is playing against DH because it's the first new class in HS ever and everyone wants to play the new flavor
@Kira: Are you forgetting Spectral Cutlass existed? Basically a 6 or higher attack weapon with lifesteal that never breaks
Or Kingsbane
Or Armor Druid or Warrior that could gain 70-80 armor
Or Healadin that was "drop yourself to 1 health to gain 29 armor and be back to full in 2 turns"
Run an Ooze or something. I wouldn't mind it being a 2/2 weapon tho.
I'm not insulted that blizz is already nerfing DH. I'm sure they knew it would be overpowered but I'm actually happy they are doing it now instead of waiting two weeks. The only people who will be upset by this are clearly DH hunters. They might actually have to think about deck building now
Dear god. I hate this game's community. The only thing all do is complain and cry. They all keep comparing this to a physical TCG. What happens when one of these games release broken mechanics? Let me tell you: you lose money, because it gets banned. Or, if that TCG is Yu-Gi-Oh!, the game becomes unplayable and they'll never fix it in any way.
Do you even know how a software development team organizes? Do you know how much time'd be needed to add the same amount of cards, mechanics AND A FUCKING NEW CLASS if they spent months testing, as all you experts complain? We'd probably have less cards, or less mechanics, and forget about a new class.
I mean, this time they did tested all cards with pro-streamers. And guess what, surprise, all of you complained about it, because this meant a more stale meta (?????). And, although indeed DH was the best, it didn't seem like a problem. You just CAN'T emulate the testing data that thousands of players playing every second gives you. YOU CAN'T. If you think you can do it, you probably don't know even the basics of software development.
Can't you see the real problem? All of you are the problem. If you want a stale game with no risks, ups and downs, go and play Magic, and stop crying. I prefer this, them trying crazy things, and responding quickly if they're broken.
You are 100% right. The people who are still complaining that "they shouldn't have let this slip through" are acting like whiny children and have no idea how difficult it is to properly balance something like this. A balance team or a summit of pro players stands no chance in emulating millions of games being played.
DH starting out strong and being dialed back quickly is also 100% better than the shiny new class being garbage on release.
Focus on the unprecedented speed to which they are fixing this instead of being so dedicated to complaining about the game all the time.
