Deck Digest v.3 - Evil Draws Close

Welcome back to our third installment of Deck Digest -- an article centered around a collection of thematically themed decks.

As always, the decks will be of varying power levels.  However, an early read of the developing Meta indicates that some of these decks are quite strong.  We hope you enjoy!  Feel free to comment below with any input on the decks included, or what you'd like to see featured in the next episode.

This episode's theme centers around Hearthstone's newest class: Demon Hunter!  The community has been buzzing with excitement since the announcement of the game's 10th class.  After roughly a week of testing -- and a round of nerfs -- it looks as if there's a variety of directions that Demon Hunter could thrive.  We've put together our take on many of those decks below.

Demon Hunter

Aggro Demon Hunter

Perhaps the most popular -- and maybe most hated deck to come with the AoO meta, Aggro Demon Hunter looks to run down your opponent fast. The 1-cost Hero Power in conjunction with an abundance of weapons and damage dealing cards makes the Aggro variant very powerful.

OTK/Burn Demon Hunter

Synergies between Kael'thas Sunstrider and cards such as Twin Slice, Skull of Gul'dan, and Inner Demon were quickly discovered upon release of the expansion. Together they can lead to an overwhelming amount of damage in one turn.

Tempo Demon Hunter

Like with most Tempo oriented decks, Tempo Demon Hunter looks to benefit from a smooth curve. Cards like Sightless Watcher and Raging Felscreamer can help ensure you can curve into upcoming turns.

Token Demon Hunter

Token Demon Hunter looks to overwhelm opponents by flooding the board with small minions. The deck contains several cards to summon "Illidari", that benefit from their rush ability. Nethrandamus and Feast of Souls can both be big late game payoffs.

Highlander Demon Hunter

Highlander Demon Hunter was discovered very early on by Firebat during the Blizzard promoted Theorycrafting streams. The deck has obviously seen some refining since, but still looks to benefit from singleton cards such as Zephrys the Great and Dragonqueen Alexstrasza.

Big Demon Hunter

High health minions are the backbone of Big Demon Hunter. Overconfident Orc, Ashtongue Battlelord, and Wrathspike Brute are just a few of the beefy minions included.

Demon Hunter with a Murloc centered tribal synergy. Many familiar Murlocs are included, as well as Ashes of Outland's newest additions: Furious Felfin and Felfin Navigator.

Wild - Odd Demon Hunter

In the Wild scene, Odd Demon Hunter is seeing some success. The upgraded Hero Power still costs one and deals an additional point of damage. The deck contains several old favorites including Loatheb and the newly Hall of Famed Leeroy Jenkins.

Wild - Highlander Demon Hunter

The wild version of Highlander Demon Hunter is also a powerful archetype. The deck contains a small dragon package and of course benefits from being able to use our old friend Reno Jackson.
