The Prologue: Playthrough and Screenshots
The Prologue consists of 4 separate fights against:
- Azzinoth as Illidan Stormrage, the Mage.
- Xavius as Illidan Stormrage, Mage with Demon Hunter Hero Power.
- Mannoroth as Illidan Stormrage, Demon Hunter.
- Cenarius as Illidan Stormrage, Demon Hunter and Outcast.
Playthrough
Fight 1: Azzinoth as Illidan Stormrage, the Mage. Azzinoth has a basic Demon deck and can equip the Warglaives of Azzinoth. He has a Manaburn spell like Demon Hunters get. Fairly straightforward fight, use your freezes smartly to prevent him from attacking and you should have no problem with him.
Fight 2: Xavius as Illidan Stormrage, Mage with DH Hero Power. For this fight you have to kill 30 minions in Co-op style with Xavius. It's a co-op fight with 1 side playing cards and the other side having the active Demonic Elementals, with at End of Turn the roles switching. Xavius plays some useful Lifesteal minions. Using those should keep you alive long enough to tag team the Demonic Elementals with Xavius. Once the fight is done Sargeras, the leader of the Burning Legion Demonic army, turns you into a half Demon with Spectral Sight as a "reward".
Fight 3: Mannoroth as Illidan Stormrage, DH. You have to kill a 40 health Mannoroth, who brings out ever bigger and badder demons, mostly with your weapons and attack synergy cards. You do get some help from Malfurion Stormrage, the Druid hero and your brother, who gives you some Treants in the starting few turns. Once done you pick up a Vial of water from the Well of Eternity, turning Malfurion against you.
Fight 4: Cenarius as Illidan Stormrage, DH and Outcast. You have to kill Cenarius who uses a host of Druid spells and minions, and creates some huge, tricky to deal with taunt minions. You have no removal so you will have to carefully use your weapons, spells and lifesteal effects to both stay alive and kill Cenarius. Once done, Illidan smirks that this is how it SHOULD have gone, but that instead he got imprisoned for TEN. THOUSAND. YEARS.
Rewards
After defeating all 4 fights, you get the rewards. The ability to start using the Demon Hunter Hero when the expansion releases, 30 Demon Hunter cards total and a Demon Hunter deck, if you had a deck slot open.

MORE DECK SLOTS OR REVOLT
I actually missed the DH deck that they gave by the end of the prologue because I had no free deck slots... lol Is it just the normal classic deck that you can find in the recipes?
Bit nettling that they were able to rework the class selection screen in order to fit 10 classes, but not the deck slot number...
I was able to play one game with pre-build deck in practice. I was unpleasantly surprised by "class is not out yet" when I tried the next game... But still I think I had a pre taste I wasn't supposed to have \(^o^)/
you can play the deck in solo adventure mode. Not in play mode.
Am I the onyl one lost with the prologue lorewise? like i thought chapter 3 and 4 happens at Warcraft 3 but then he's punished for 10000 years so it must have happened prior to W3, but if I don't remeber wrongly he doesnt become a demon hunter (with horns and all that) after W3 (i remeber the horns in W3 Frozen Throne?
and whats up with that satyr on chapter 2 of the prologue? never heard of that guy in W3 and The Frozen Throne.
You got your lore way mixed up. This takes place during the War of the Anicents 10k years ago, where Azshara and Xavius opened up a portal for the Burning Legion using the Well of Eternity. Illidan was 'rewarded' by Sargeras with the tattoos, burned out eyes, and the powers for his 'loyalty'. He didn't get the demon horns and metamorphis till 10k years later During the 3rd war when he consumed the skull of Gul'dan.
He shouldn't have his horns nor hooves in this adventure, but they weren't going to create more artwork it seems.
well, it turns out you can't play it in practice also i liked the story quite a bit. bummer that it's way too short...
kinda mildly disappointing
You can read a book (actually trilogy), called War Of the ancients. This is a must read if you somehow like the lore of Warcraft.
It's a free short introduction to the DH-class. What, you expected a free full-fledged adventure? Keep dreaming...
Idk if it's a bug or blizzard allowed it, but you can play the free DH deck in adventures like naxramas, BlackRock etc
Not only that, you can actually gain XP in the class by doing that lol
They either patched it or I'm doing something wrong, but I can't play ANY of those adventures using the DH deck.
: (
It seems to be very finicky and is only working with the deck they provided (at least for me). Even then it only worked for me with Naxxramus on the second attempt.
If you aren’t ready for 80% of all decks you fight to be Demon Hunters, then clearly YOU ARE NOT PREPARED!
Mrglgrgl pfff
Well its a bit weird on mobile. You can make decks with DH and then, either finish them later or fill with neutral cards. But when you get out of the deck building, you can not reenter the deck to delete or edit it again. It just says that the class is not unlocked yet. Should be fixed asap.
