17.0 Hotfix Update - Returning Player Experience And Other Fixes
Blizzard just posted about an array of fixes that have gone out or will go out in the next few days, including to Kingsbane and Clever Disguise cards and the Returning Player experience as well as the currently unsolvable Boomsday Project Puzzles being fixed on April 9th. Read all the details below.
Quote from BlizzardWe are currently in the process of putting out a few hotfixes for issues introduced after the 17.0 update. Please note that these fixes take place on the server side, so you should not need to download anything if you’ve updated to 17.0.
- We’ve identified and fixed an issue that could cause the game to fail to offer some eligible players the Returning Player Experience. Affected players should now receive the appropriate quest line when logging into Hearthstone.
- Whizbang the Wonderful will no longer offer decks with cards that have moved to the Hall of Fame.
- Kingsbane will now correctly be destroyed and shuffled into your deck when it reaches 0 durability.
- Living Roots, when disenchanted, now properly gives the amount of dust of a common instead of an epic. However, its gem rarity will not be updated until Monday (3/30).
- Invoke cards will now no longer appear from cards that generate other cards.
- Clever Disguise will now correctly function as intended when played.
This coming Monday (3/30), we’re planning to deploy a data-only patch that addresses a couple more issues:
- Darkness Awaits will no longer be incorrectly marked as collectible in the Collection.
- Basic cards will no longer be incorrectly earned from Arena rewards.
- Living Roots’s gem rarity will be corrected from Epic to Common.
There are several known issues that will self-resolve on 4/7 when the Demon Hunter and Ashes of Outland unlock:
- Felfin Navigator will correctly appear in the Battlegrounds minion pool.
- The Battlegrounds Perks button will correctly function as intended when clicked.
- The new Priest cards will correctly appear in the Arena card pool.
- Demon Hunter Initiate cards will no longer be granted by completing Galakrond’s Awakening Chapters.
- Hallucination and Blink Fox will work correctly when played against Demon Hunter in Practice Mode.
- Curious Glimmerroot will no longer cause client crashes when played against Demon Hunter in Practice Mode.
- The Search Bar in the Collection will correctly function as intended, and will no longer jump to the top of the screen.
Additionally, there are a few Boomsday Project Puzzles that can no longer be completed now because of card changes introduced in 17.0. We’re planning to deploy a fix for Boomsday Project Puzzles on April 9.
We are investigating several other reports and will keep you posted as we know more. We’d like to thank everyone for their patience while we get some of these bugs squashed!
You'll keep finding those cards you haven't found yet, regardless that you kept them or not, until you found them all.
anyone else noticed that priest is not playable no matter what cards are in the deck, blizzard need to get on this and fix ready for the new update
already dusted Living Root lol :D hopefuly for 100 dust
While an admission of willful exploitation could in theory. The short answer is no. Blizz has proven very lenient about this sort of thing in the past.
What about Zayle? He has cards from the Year of the Raven but he is in RoS set. What will happen to him?
I'm equally curious about this. My guess, is that you'll just be running the same decks in standard still, with wild cards in it.
Looks like you didn't try playing it. Since the patch was applied Zayle's decks have been updated to a better version with only year of the dragon cards
"Invoke cards will now no longer appear from cards that generate other cards."
Dammit, I thought that was intentional. I really liked that, do they have to change it back?
doesnt it look at the recepies in standard mode and give you a deck from there? so you will play new standard decks in wild...
If I remember correctly, Blizzard has no intention of updating the decks that it currently offers, that's why I said old decks
oh weird, would it be so hard to code it to choose one of the decks in the deckbuilder premade decks? (<- no computerscientist here so i honostly dont know)
I'm still waiting for Blizzard to announce that Whizbang the Wonderful will either move to standard or is going to get wild decks specifically for him. To be honest I'd love the latter as it would give players without a wild collection and/or new players to enjoy wild as well but I doubt it so they should at least make him a Classic card.
There seems to be no intention of changing the card. It will become total trash enabling you to play old standard decks in wild.
I agree this is pretty disappointing
Completely agree, but sadly in one of the interviews, blizzard said that they have no intention in something like that, since new players will have access to a free deck, and it will work as always in wild. It feels really bad for one of the best cards in the game
I like how blizzard fixed the dust value of living roots but didn't bother to also fix the rarity right away. Greedy as fuck if you ask me. Ah well, didn't have the card to begin with but still.... ehhh...
Moral of the story: don't go murlocs until Felfin Navigator unlocks
Adding demon hunter (missing no) was just a step down the path of infinite dust (rare candies)
academic espionage doesnt work either against demon hunter in practice mode. same for swaschburglar
And Nefarian
I noticed something new today too. I was playing the Dungeon Run mode that was introduced for The Witchwood, and I had Learn Draconic in the field as Toki. I completed it, then reset my turn with my Hero Power, then my game crashed because the quest disappeared.
