This is just bonkers, and furthermore bolsters the already excellent DH card draw capabilities. You can setup your Mulligan so that you're more likely to get it on your most left or right side, so Outcast isn't that much of a big deal imo.
A 2/1 for 1 mana that draws a card.
Kinda comparable to Sludge Slurper in the current meta, which is a good card now that it's been un-nerfed.
that artwork ...
great card, though. Not as good as Kobold Librarian, but still great. Especially in the late game it's a cycle with a body. That's pretty good, too.
It's so funny when most of the DH cards MUST be op to make him a playable class
Demon Hunters don't have years and expansions of great cards, it only makes since to get a lot of good cards now to set the class up.
been saying this for a while i bet their making it op so people give it a chance and few weeks or months its cards will get nerfed
Jedi outcast XD
Best 1 drop ever. The fact that this is a 1 mana outcast make it very easy to play in an aggro build, or any archetype that demon hunter will use because this cycle himself. I thought years of people playing Power Word Shield and Tracking will be enough to made realize everyone that 1 mana draw a card is indeed powerful, specially when it come with a body, but I see a lot of them underrating it.
Outcast is stronger when it come with low mana price because you can cast it easier. This is 1 mana. No it's doesn't become garbage past turn 1 because it DRAW you a card for cheap.
Not better than Kobold Librarian (ok it is in wild now), but really strong. Issue is that if it is in the middle of your hand it can be a bit tricky. At least it cycles itself.
This actually showcases some of the decisions you need to make with Outcast.
It's interesting in that it's a 1-drop you probably mulligan if it's not on the left of your hand. Unlike other 1-drops it will actually be pretty good most of the time you draw it mid-game, as you'll cycle it immediately and then cast a minion one mana below curve. Probably dreadful to draw it on turn 2.
But if you Mulligan your other cards doesn't it become the left?
Cards when mulligan'd maintain their position in your hand.
no, mulliganing doesn't move your hand. any card you keep will stay in the same position
'Probably dreadful to draw it on turn 2.'
Not if you play it and then draw your second copy :P
Is this overpowered in the sense that it does more than a 1-drop should? Without a doubt.
Is it game-breaking? Heck no. It'll probably be fairly easy to have this in the wrong position in hand to be used on-demand as card draw (particularly Turn 1), and even then, it's still just a 2/1 body. Very good for 1 mana, but not more than just "very good."
Kobold librarian is only powerful on turn 1... On turn 1, IF this end up in your starting hand:
If you're 1st: theres a 50% chance it's not a left or right card, plus about a 50% chance of drawing it in opening 4 cards.. Therefore 25% chance overall that this is NOT a Vanilla 2/1 for turn 1
If you're 2nd: 60% chance it's not a right or left card, and about a 58% of drawing it in the opening 5 cards, so there's a 23% chance its NOT a Vanilla 2/1 on turn 1
... I'm sure my math will be slightly off somewhere, but regardless, with 2 copies of this in your deck, theres a rounded 75% chance this will be a crappy turn 1 card... if you want it to sit in your hand until it makes it's way to an edge, then you get a cheap card draw, but I don't think this is overall a good card, because there are far better draw options for DH, including ones that drastically reduce cost of the cards you draw.
I don't know how you do your math.
Starting 1st, you have 33% of him being in the middle, without counting mulligan.
Starting 2nd, the possibilities of being in the middle raise to 50%, without mulligan.
In both cases, replacing the left and right cards, will increase the odd of having it in those positions, not bad, i'd say.
As someone else has pointed out, going through the game, it's a creature that cycle itself, without doing you 2 damage, like the Kobold Librarian, neat!
You forgot that you will draw a card before playing it if it is in your right side, so you cannot play it properly on turn 1.
Its topdeck cycle, cant really complain
Topdeck, forced cycle, potential lose tempo and game plan...
Turn 4, play 4 drop, prepping board for your 5 drop... Turn 5, draw this, "FUCK!", play this and draw another 5 drop, "FUCK!". Turn 6 play one of the 5 drops and hero power. Tempo lost.
You can draw your whole deck by turn 8 with this mess:
Skull of Gul'dan
Feast of Souls
Chaos Strike
Spectral Sight
Consume Magic
Why the hell do you want a potentially Vanilla 1 drop??
