Why does Team 5 include cards with rush in each expansion?
Evergreen keyword that gives minion based cards and decks a way to immediately impact the board.
It's dormant...but it has rush...so it's a slow...fast...setup...answer?
I guess the worst one had to be the neutral one.
This card is great.
Many decks do nothing on turn 2 anyway.
Here comes the “expansion keyword” filler neutral cards that will only see play through discover, random card generation or Blizzard personal favorite...evolve Shaman.
Cards like this were good in shadowverse... but shadowverse had cards that speed these clocks up.
MTG also had cards like this, but they typically had some heavy duty payoff that justified the trouble. For example, here is a really scary dormant card that helped shape a prior MTG meta: https://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/card/details.aspx?name=Thing%20in%20the%20Ice
Probably will never make it. That said I'm pretty curious to see that new mechanic screwing up the doomsayers of the world...
This dormant thing is more like another way to say "overload". Its pretty much a 4 mana 3-5 with rush...
With no other functions than itself, we already use a 4 mana 2-2 with rush that gives invoke.
Will see play in REALLY hard control decks, but no play at all in any galakrond or aggro deck
It is literally the opposite of overload. Overload gives you value now with a downside later. Dormant means you spend mana now for literally less than nothing right now for value later, which is way worse.
never thought this way gg
There's zero chance of such a card being neutral, but maybe a class legendary. I doubt it though, the dormant class cards shown so far have been insanely overpowered in combination with such a card.
I don't think this will see play outside of niche early game decks. Sure, if you can coin it out on 1 or play it turn 2, it's great. Late game, it's complete garbage. Imagine drawing this when you need an actual solution for something on the board.
In the current meta, few decks consistently develop on turn 2 and there's an incredible amount of removal. You get to deny removal and get a bunch of tempo back for the price of 1 turn where you're not doing much anyway. On the coin, this will put you at an insane advantage in any tempo matchup. I don't see how anyone can proclaim this Arena filler.
With all these demons lurking around, Sacrificial Pact will be a thing in the next meta
If the ladder becomes demon hunter infested maybe.
rather trash, because its really ONLY decent on Turn 2, and we know how the likelihood for that to happen is.
You want Rush minions to be able to kill stuff right off the gate, or else you lose the game.
if you draw it later I can only see the massive drawback, also HORRIBLE if not the WORST topdeck.
ONE STAR
Yeah, cards that are only good turn 2 never see play!
It's poop BUT I bet there is going to be a card that awakens dormant minions on your side and then this card is suddenly good
Horrible if drawn after turn 4
