The Name makes no sense for the Effect.
The Effect makes no sense for the Art.
The Art makes no sense for Priest.
What’s going on here?
This probably will be a common thing this expansion, we are talking about an expansion with the Chaos Orcs after all
if Drakonid Operative's art can be a priest card so can orcs imo
On the contrary i think the name and the art make total sense for the effect and the priest class.
the booterang works as a mind control item.
Perfect explanation for my feelings about this card right now. You read my mind.
Q: Priest theme this expansion is probably going to be about Nether dragons. The Dragonmaw clan in the Burning Crusade expansion in wow is the clan trying to tame/enslave those dragons. This one on the card has a boot in his hand in reference to the daily quest during BC where you would disguise as a Fel Orc and "motivate" peons by kicking them with a boot boomerang. We can even see crystals in the card art, as this daily quest was in a zone with huge crystals everywhere.
A: Bingo, this is that dude. :D Yeah, on his own, this card is aesthetically a little weird for Priest, but it's part of a larger Dragonmaw package that you'll see more of soon
OP as hell. At worst it's a 3 mana 4/4 in stats. This is like pre-nerf Undertaker in a way, if you don't have an answer after 3 turns for that thing the game is done.
It's a 3 mana 4/4 only if you already have a minion on the field. If you don't have an answer for a 2/2 for 3 turns, then there's probably something wrong with your deck.
Definitely wouldn't call it OP. Assuming you can play it with a minion already on the board, or play it on the same turn as a minion, it's basically a 4/4 for 3 (with some upside and downside to how that 4/4 is split - this body is super fragile, but if they kill it you're only losing 2/2 of the stats).
Thing is, a 2/2 is very easy to kill, and it's a conditional 4/4. Even if it is a 4/4 for 3 - which is decent vanilla stats - 4/4 for 3 isn't so broken that I'd call it OP.
That said, I would say it's very strong. 4/4 worth of stats for 3 that only loses 2/2 if they kill it? That's very good overall. Between this, and the priest rework, we could get a more aggressive or midrange priest deck in the next xpac.
Any Priest that runs this will have good early game so more often than not they will have something on the field.
Priest having good early game is the problem, Priest currently has no good 1 drop and no finisher. There is no point in playing tempo Priest because Priest has no reach, you won't be able to deal the last 5-6 damage even if you deal 25 in first five turns.
Iron Sensei that works with any minion.
Great card for Arena. Just draft 3-4 of these and go crazy.
I thought he was bending his leg for a moment.
Ps. Ogro looks ready to fit that Orc's whole boot in his mouth.
i guess he is holding a boot? I love the effect, shadow ascendent is fun. it sucked in standard because of other cards (odd mages hero power), but is just classic minion fun. Maybe same problem here, low health minion and a priority target, not gonna survive. Hopefully we will see a little support to make it work. I can see it with a stout taunt or a gallery replacement.
Only saving grace for this card is that it is amazing to Psychopomp in early game, otherwise this just sucks in Standard.
Iron Sensei is back boys
Shadow ascendant (2 mana 2/2 end of turn give +1/+1) sucked but this might be good? It'll be fun seeing who wins biggest idiot, priest or paladin. Both happen to be my favorite classes lol.
Edit: didn't consider galakrond. It's not As bad as I thought when he can just appear in your hand sometimes. I don't see putting him in my deck. Pretty much feels like an arena card
Looks like I'm not the only one who thought it was warrior card guessing by the art.
YO! the Booterang makes it into the game! Sadly not as a weapon but I'll take it. :D
