Friendly Fights - Fists of Fury

Friendly Fights

Galakrond’s Awakening presented us with plenty of new cards to play with. Among them, only a few are worthy of exploiting their chaotic value. While The Amazing Reno definitely has a fun Hero Power, one spell per turn isn’t good enough on its own (especially with Puzzle Box of Yogg Saron every turn being possible). 4 Random Legendaries on a weapon however is more intriguing. We present to you a way to get endless value out of the mere existence of this fantastic weapon.

Fists of Fury

Both players have access to The Fist of Ra-den often and a frequent supply of spell they can discover from almost any class!

Key Cards For This Game

The Fist of Ra-den - Summoning random Legendary minions? How can you not have fun with this?

Hoard Pillager + Hench-Clan Burglar - These two supply the Legendary Weapon and the spells to make it constantly usable.

Acidic Swamp OozeKobold Stickyfinger- This will help Shaman get rid of their first weapon and let Rogue steal it when Hoard Pillager gives them their second one.

Faceless Manipulator/HolomancerYouthful Brewmaster - These give Shaman the tools needed to shuffle Hench-Clan Burglars into their deck.

Violet Illusionist + Augmented Elekk - As always, this trusty duo blocks fatigue and fills your deck faster.

Lab RecruiterBaleful Banker- You need to take both of these. Since The Fist of Ra-den can generate value from multiple spells, you’ll need roughly more Hench-Clan Burglars than Hoard Pillagers.

Corrupt the Waters/Galakrond, the NightmareSideshow Spelleater - Since Rogue’s base Hero Power can potentially ruin the whole game’s gimmick, it’s a good idea to include a way to get viable Hero Powers that remain useful in general. Both sides should have the same Hero Power for the sake of fairness.

Sonya Shadowdancer - If you suspect a game will go quite long (which they tend to), you’ll want to have a way use Baleful Banker and Lab Recruiter a second time. This is the most efficient option, though you can use other methods if needed.

Emperor Thaurissan - You don’t NEED to discount cards, but it significantly decreases the number of turns you need to actually finish setting up.

The Game Plan

One player needs to be a Rogue and the other needs to be a Shaman. Suggested deck lists will be at the bottom, but it’s important to know what should go in these decks and why.

WARNING: DO NOT USE THE ROGUE HERO POWER! It ruins the Hoard Pillager’s ability to reequip The Fist of Ra-den.

Step 1: Draw Out Your Deck

Load up your deck with plenty of card draw in order to empty your deck so that you can refill it with new cards. However, be careful with putting too much draw in. You still have cards you’ll need to keep in your hand, so burning one of them can ruin the whole thing. Be sure to include sone throwaway cards to keep some space in your hand. You’ll also need some kind of damage to clear away minions too big to trade or when someone’s board gets too full.

Once Shaman plays The Fist of Ra-den, Rogue will need to use Acidic Swamp Ooze to destroy it so Shaman doesn’t have to hit anything.

Once Shaman completes the Quest, Rogue can then copy it with Sideshow Spelleater.

Step 2: Prepare Hands and Board

Both boards should have a Violet Illusionist and 2 Augmented Elekks.

Rogue needs Kobold StickyfingerHench-Clan BurglarHoard PillagerBaleful Banker, Lab Recruiter, and Sonya Shadowdancer.

Shaman needs EarthquakeBaleful Banker, Faceless ManipulatorHolomancer, and a Youthful Brewmaster.

Step 3: Begin Set Up

These need to be finished in however many turns it takes (preferably in order). It should only be a few if Emperor Thaurissan has been out for several turns.

-Both Players need to use Heart of Vir’naal followed by using Baleful Banker on their Hoard Pillager and Lab Recruiter on their Hench-Clan Burglar. Shamans need to use the Holomancer to copy Hench-Clan Burglar and Lab Recruiter from the Rogue, Youthful Brewmaster the Lab Recruiter, then replay it to shuffle the Hench-clan Burglars.

-Rogue needs to steal The Fist of Ra-den that Shaman reequips with Hoard Pillager.

-Rogue uses Sonya Shadowdancer and the Shaman uses Faceless Manipulator to copy it. Then trade and reuse Baleful Banker and Lab Recruiter in the same way as before. For board space, you can trade the Violet Illusionists at this point.

-Once all is done and the decks are ready, Shaman kills everything with Earthquake.

Step 4: Send in the Legendaries!

Since the Rogue already played Hench-Clan Burglar and has a spell in hand, the Shaman may go first. Make sure both sides have a weapon before beginning.

Behold My Unstoppable Army of 2-Cost Legendary minions

Rules

1: Both players must be at 30 health (or at least equal health).

2: No going face if the opponent’s controls a Hench-Clan Burglar or Hoard Pillager. This keeps rushing down the opponent in a few turns to a minimum.

Of course, you’re definitely allowed to change up these rules and even the set up if you wish. In fact, we’re all for it! After all, it’s a custom game. Do things the way YOU want to do them.

Suggested Decklists

Thanks to deck-sharing, it’s totally fine if only one of you can build the necessary decks. Here are the most efficient versions of the decks for this game.
