The reason they keep selling these variety packs, is because the pity timer only ticks when you open packs of the same type.
Opening 3 packs of each set is far more likely to give you 4 commons and a rare, with no legends,while opening 24 packs of the same type is exceptionally more likely to give you more legendaries, and more epics.

But, yes, on Apple Store or Google Play it's always more expensive, because Blizzard has to pay part of the profit to Apple or Google, so they charge more there to, somehow, intentionally make people buy on PC, so they can take all the revenue to themselves.

We also had 4 legit news stories already published and it's pretty dumb to push down legit news stories for this fluff. There was also the promotion for the fan creations event that needed to go out because there's a limited time to vote in those. So that's already 5 things that were more important than this fluff piece.
On top of that, this bundle was promoted on the Battle.net App and in game you were notified by a little red and yellow ! on the shop button, so it's not like this needed attention from us on the frontpage to make people aware of it.
And then we still put it on the news as the first story today, for the people that want to discuss it and might have missed it otherwise.
I don't think holding back a fluff piece for some 12 hours to give the legit news time to be seen is a bad decision, but truly, I'm open to suggestion as to why this should have been posted last night anyway.

Posted Mar 4, 2020 (GA Week 4)It's quite simple really. Putting up a new news story pushes the older stories down the page. People visiting the page tend to read the top story, and then every story after that gets less and less attention.
Usually this is not a problem, but with 4 news stories in 1 day + a link to the Fan Creations post, there's a real chance that people start ignoring legit news stories, simply cause they don't realize that so much has happened that day.
I think the important take away for me from this is that people (you included) might find this Pack Bundle news more important than I had given it credit for. That's certainly something I'll keep in mind going forward. :)
