Galakrond's Awakening Adventure - Chapter 3 Guide
Today is the release of the Galakrond's Awakening Adventure Chapter 3 and we have gathered all the info you need!
What is Galakrond's Awakening?
Galakrond's Awakening is a solo adventure in the classic Adventure style, where you can play through the story with pre-made decks and unlock collectible cards on normal mode and play through with self made decks on Heroic for some Card Backs. The goal is to defeat the given PvE Encounters in a Chapter. Each Chapter typically has 3 Encounters for the Good side of the League of Explorers and 3 encounters for the E.V.I.L. side with the League of E.V.I.L., with both sides giving collectible cards as rewards with 2 cards for the end fight.
What Time does the Adventure Release?
How do I unlock the Chapters?
The Chapters unlock individually for 700 in-game gold (or €6.99 EUR/$6.99 USD) or all Chapters at once in a €19.99 EUR/$19.99 USD launch bundle. You will still have to wait for Blizzard to release the Chapters to play them however! Chapter 2 opens today.
What are the Rewards?
Playing through the Adventure will allow you to unlock 35 collectible cards, as well as 2 card backs for finishing the Adventure on both sides of the story on Heroic. If you get the Pre-Purchase Bundle, you also get a Golden Classic pack. Today's Chapter 3 will allow you to unlock 8 cards, shown below.
What can you expect?
This third chapter is called "Air Battle Over Dragonblight" and can be played through on both Good (Explorers) and E.V.I.L. side, where the E.V.I.L. side will grant 4 cards total for completing and Good will grant 4 cards too.
On the E.V.I.L. side there are 3 fights: First against Dragonrider Talritha, then against The Wanderer and lastly against The Dragonflights.
On the Good side there are 3 fights: First against Rotwing, then against Dragonslayer Skruk and lastly against The Slipstream.

Heroic Decks
You can find Decks to beat specific Heroic bosses uploaded on our site, visible in the widget on the front page or if you search the decks and select "Deck Type" as "PvE Adventure" in the Additional Filters or by using this link!
Creating Decks for Heroic
If you are playing Heroic and have a great deck for a certain Boss, then please, upload it using our Deckbuilder.
Simply make the deck like you normally would, then instead of "Ranked Deck" pick "PvE Adventure" from the drop down and under the "Boss" drop down, select which boss the deck is for. Write a description on how to use the deck for a better chance at those sweet, sweet upvotes. The community thanks you in helping them beat this Adventure and getting the cool Card Backs.
We put some images below to show where the drop downs are!

Then the Specific Boss

I have been a little disappointed in this PvE compared to the last two. Tombs of Terror was wonderful, so I’m confused as to why they went back to the “wing” gameplay compared to the new formula they had developed since Dungeon Run. Seems almost like they peaked lol
Don’t get me wrong, I love the flavor and new cards that have been added. But I was surprised at the lack of difficulty. After replaying all the newer solo adventures; from K&C to SoU (excluding Boomsday) the amount of RNG seemed to lessen each time IMO. But the same is not true for the older adventures that require deckbuilding. Those seem to worsen with specific bosses, with Lich King being one of the most obnoxious of the bunch.
For me personally, one of the best parts of the older adventures is the ability to exploit a specific weakness when building a deck. It helps to be fun and creative with it. And while I realize that’s not everyone’s cup of tea, I found it dissatisfying how easily I could beat the “heroic” bosses in Galakrond’s Awakening so far.
Perhaps next week will surprise me, but so far I have been able to beat every boss with Exodia mage. More than half of them on the first try. Does anyone else feel a bit underwhelmed with the difficulty? Below is the deck I used, I found it Looking for a way to beat a heroic boss in League of Explorers.
I know OTK mage is vastly OP for these Solo Adventures, but I am speaking about the bosses themselves. Again, these are just my opinions and I’m curious for insight on why they decided to change back.

Exodia mage is definitely a catch all when it comes to heroic. Without that or OG Alexstraza I don't know how Skruk would even be beatable.
Dude how obvious does it have to be that it's nothing more than a cash grab?
I mean, that’s nothing new yeah? Been on the decline for awhile.
Therefore it’s strange that quality lessened so noticeably compared to the other cash grabs.
PSA FOR HEROIC PLAYERS
use frothing beserker and grim patron for both auto attack fights
is it possible to skip buying this chapter and get 4 next week? im using gold
Toki - awesome.. the ''skyship chess'' - awful.. :D
The most boring/whatever chapter so far. Only Toki's fight was alright
Worst chapter. The "canon" part was so tedious.
Man this adventure is horrible. I even play tombs of terror and dalaran heist monthly, that was the right way Blizzard...
I though I remembered seeing something about being able to make the cards gold. How can we do that other dusting and recrafting?
Sky general only fits in highlander dragon hunter and mage.
Any other deck has no use in him. He doesn’t go face for aggro hunter, you don’t want to pull him out in embiggen Druid after completing sidequest, no point in having him in quest Druid, he messes up res pool for priest and I haven’t seen quest shaman in weeks, maybe he can fit there.
Good cards are hunter dragon, battlecry epic (you’d probably want to add one copy of it) and maybe hunter mech if the archetype will see play
I think half the cards are playable here. Both dragons will fit into class decks (I know Priest is down right now, but this fella could help out a dragon or hydra- highlander dragon- deck). The pirate is just a good value/tempo card and will see play and highlander decks get a strong tech card that will mess opponents plays up. This week's cards have potential.
All cards are pretty crappy except the hunter's dragon which is insane
I think Sky Gen'ral Kragg might be decent too. It works with any quest, including Sidequests (like Clear the Way ) and gives 6/5 stats for 4 mana, with a small taunt and a small rush/removal part. That's a pretty useful package in 1 card.
Main problem will be that you would want this card consistently in early game and you can only have 1 in your deck.
Boompistol Bully seems like it could be very strong.
If you pull the card later in your deck its not such an issue... "if you played a quest THIS GAME" - you don't need a quest active to get the effect.
Indeed, a good Zephyr counter with a full board.
I meant that the impact of the card is less useful late in the game. I was aware that the card can be played anytime after playing a Quest. :)
Pretty excited for Scalelord. Will he work? Probably. Will he be good? No. Am I gonna try him out 100 times anyways? Yup.
