Minion Triggers Across Hearthstone Being Sped Up - No Longer Just Battlegrounds!
Blizzard has just announced that they are speeding up Minion Triggers across the game, and not just in Battlegrounds. A great step forward, and not the last one according to this post! Read all about it below!
Quote from blizzardWe're speeding up minion triggers across the whole game ("Whenever"/"After", Poisonous, Lifesteal, etc. etc.) in an upcoming patch to better match the cadence of Battlegrounds (they'll resolve in 0.2s (down from 0.8s) except for the special cases we flag for 0s).
This is done and checked in, just hasn't gone live yet because it requires a full patch.
I'm pretty hyped about this, mainly because a lot of people have wanted things like this and that I think/hope is going to be a really really nice change to the game. But also because (as your title says) Battlegrounds paved the way for this change, and it's cool seeing a new game mode have these positive ripple effects across the rest of the game.:)
Not the last change we're looking to make in this vein by a long shot, but that's the upcoming, completed one.
Superb
He may have been whining, but It would be fun if there were some kind of chess timer mode. where you only get a certain amount of time per turn, but you can bank time for the more complex turns. (though that'd still be somewhat difficult with Some Druid and Rogue turns these days.
That's probably mostly true, though games have been becoming more complex since sometime around the middle of last year. Good to see they have addressed it.
I don't know why, but it seems to me so absurd that they treat this like some big change to the game. It's something so basic.
What blows my mind is that it's being corrected 7 years later.
Seriously. The moment they debuted the Acidmaw/Dreadscale combo that they were so proud of, and it took 40 seconds to resolve the animations on a full board, they should have noticed this was unacceptable and addressed this. That was YEARS ago.
Because it really wasn't a huge deal. Very little really mattered before several key cards that came out. With cards like Lackeys, there are more plays to be made in a turn. The only OG one that should have been fixed was poisonous. Shouldn't have taken so long to just kill something as if it was enough attack to do so.
need nozdormu mode, now
sick and tired of waiting pointlessly for you to play a 1/2 mana minion tyvm
fucking bullshit timer
All I read is "waaaahh".
I would love to see the time saved on your turn banked for future turns (up to a limit so you arent able to troll people sitting there for 5 min or something) as was mentioned somewhere on the internet from another card game. This would hopefully reduce people roping obvious turns and reward those that play faster.
Blitz mode like in chess?
MtG Arena does this. The turn timer is quite short, but every turn you pass with x time left banks you x-second "extensions" you can use later.
Great now we just need a faster format for people like me who hate waiting 2min for the opponent to make a straight forward move.
YES PLEASE! It sometimes feels like Hearthstone is 20% gameplay and 80% waiting for either animations or the opponent's turn to be over. I can't believe it took 7 years just to fix the animations part.
"Battlegrounds paved the way for this change"
Did you mean: "Legends of Runeterra paved the way for this change"
haters gonna hate lul
*shrugs*
Umm, no. Maybe living under a rock might give you a warped perspective, but it was changed because in BGs you would have a shorter recruit timer than others because your match was littered with effects going off.
I'm a legend player and I played shitgrounds too...boring mode and with all the slow animations is really bad. But these changes coming to the actual Cardgame shows how the game is very slow compared to new card games actually.
Lor is very speed up and very smoothly to play, that's why they are changing the game, cause they are behind already.
I know how hard is to be a fanboy, but watch reality of the corporative world, it's only about $$$$$$$ and who copy better the other game wins.
git gut
It's understandable that he gets downvoated but he's definitely right in some way. Hearthstone feels sooooo painfully slow after playing a game of, for example, TFT.
I understand too...it's normal, ppl discuss stuff. I'm just a rough dealer
Doubt it. Battlegrounds forced them to finally address the animation speed issue, and once they did, getting it in the main game is basically free.
