Blizzard Standard Meta Update - With Decks Added!
Hearthstone Developer Dean "IskarHS" Ayala posted on twitter last night about the Meta and which decks are highly represented in it and which decks are having a high win percentage.
He followed up on this tweet with an answer to an interesting question by @ChrisEverett93, who asked: "Aren't these decks only high win-rate because they beat Rogue and Druid, while everything else is unplayable?"Quote from blizzardStandard Meta Update:
(Last Full Week, All Regions, Rank 5-Legend, Alphabetical Order)
Top 5 Population:
Embiggen Druid
Galakrond Rogue
Galakrond Warrior
Highlander Hunter
Highlander Rogue
Top 5 Win-Rate:
Aggro Hunter
Combo Priest
Highlander Hunter
Mech Paladin
Quest Hunter
Quote from blizzardHigh win-rate decks tend to be decks that do well vs high population decks, yes.
We can then draw the conclusion that if you want to beat the decks in the "Top 5 Population" section, that you should turn your eye to the "Top 5 Win Rate" section.
Or you could just play Highlander Hunter and cover both, of course...
To help with that, we have included deck lists for ALL these decks, so that you can make your own choices. Enjoy!

The overuse of Leeroy should justify the HoF the card, it is the point of HoF anyway.
If Ragnaros still in Standard never will be omnipresent like Leeroy.
One of Embiggen Druid's key card has a mana cost of 8... There's nothing aggro about it.
This... But i am already shifting to MtG:A anyways.
I´ve played Arena since I got a Beta key for it and I can say that the game has its issues.
Friend List JUST came to the game, and its not even that good, there are no Human Drafting, it only supports Standard and not the other formats, Brawl (The "Standard Commander" format) requires Gems/Money to play and, of what i´ve understood since I dont play it, only on Wednesdays(?).
The Standard Meta for me was so boring that I started playing the Modern format on MTGO, which has a inferior client compared to Arena. But atleast MTGO has Human Drafting, Cube Drafting, Trading, ALL Formats and more. Just get used to the aids client...
All valid arguents, but at least stuff is happening.
But...,
Pioneer (newest format) will come to MtG:A, at least they have events regularly, if you are an ok player you keep playing stuff like draft from your rewards, WotC isn't afraid to ban problem cards on short notice. you can play Bo 1 OR Bo 3 (with sideboard).

A Galakrond Shaman nostalgic complaining about the actual lack of variety in the meta?!? That's pretty weird, considering how that deck was considered (before it got nerfed, twice) probably the most unbalanced one ever, which led to certified winrates of about 70% and -subsequently - playrates of >50% on high ladder never witnessed before. One month ago was not "every match against the same decks". It was more like "every match against the same DECK".
Meta is meta, you can do nothing about it. The vast majority of players seek wins way more than just fun. And therefore the majority of players will always turn to proven efficient netdecks. If only they could stick to ladder and leave casual alone...
But why do they have to nerf it in a way that the whole deck archetype is no more playable at all? Why can’t they just make a few balance corrections without making shaman deck unplayable? Why do they bring out cards like that at all when they destroy it afterwards again? Are they not testing their new cards in advance and foresee their strength? Why can’t they bring more variability To the game with their expansions like it used to be? Right now you see the same 3-4 decks all the time. That’s just boring.
No wonder the biggest heads of hearthstone left the team.
Still waiting for more game modes tho. Game is getting more boring by the day.. Every time it is the same 24+ cards for each class.
The might as well use this header;
Blizzard Standard Meta Update - With SAME DECKS AS LAST 10+ WEEKS Decks Added!
So sad, that they nerfed Galakrond Shaman that it’s no more playable in the top tier. No shaman deck at all in the meta. No variety, every match against the same decks. Yesterday I played at least 8 times against embiggen Druid in a row. Good job blizzard, for bungle the game. It’s no more fun 👎🏻
Can understand them nerfing the Invoke cards for Shaman, they were a little strong, but the first rounds of nerfs were fine. It wasnt a "META BREAKING" deck anymore as it was during release and was fine after the first batch of nerfs. Currently the meta is favored towards Aggro i´d say, with Embiggen Druids, Hunters, Pirate Warriors (which also got a nerf) and then the Highlander decks like Hunter or Rogue.
Give me back Tempo Rogue from vanilla HS :(
