Mike Donais shared some information about his position with Blizzard and involvement with Hearthstone
Today we learned of another hit to the Hearthstone development team, as our beloved Game Designer Mike Donais announced (in Twitch chat) his departure from Hearthstone, but also shares that he remains in Blizzard.
Here you can see all the relevant messages he posted in Twitch chat while he was watching Dog:
Dean "IksarHS" Ayala has responded to a reddit post about the whole situation
Quote from Dean AyalaMike is OP. He still gives us advice and just recently pitched us a robo-murloc design for battlegrounds even though he had already moved on from the team. Thanks Mike, I know we can always count on you for murloc designs and murloc related puns.
Battlegrounds is now a responsibility of the card design team, so the same team that works on expansions will now also handle content production for that game mode.
Deleted.
Oh boy. Here we go again w/ "daed gaem"
(Game has been dying since Beta...or...it's already dead) ; )
Damn...this is almost the announcement of announcement of HS ending. Only hipsters will work on the game now, time to move on.
LOR, HERE I COME!
wait !! hearthstone is evolving !!
10th class death knight , balanced class
2v2 multiplayer
adding a super legendary card ( something that you can find in a pack with a probability of 0.01%)
congratulation , hearthstone has evolved into hearthstone 2 :=)
HS2 pretty much confirmed in development. It was about time. HS is too limited as a platform.
GL with HS2, Mike & team!
nice we need fresh blood
While HS brings enough money they will not cut team too much, so i suppose core will still be fine.
From the bright side! We might see something more or less new.
New blood is often required!

What does Iksar mean with OP?
Is it the usual term for OverPowered, or is it something else in business language, like OperativePowerboss?
Like normal OP. It's no longer his work, but he still cares.
What is normal OP?
Sry I am no native english speaker.
OP does mean overpowered, but as with a lot of overused gaming phrases, it's used in more contexts. OP can be applied to anything that is "really good". So it's supposed to be a compliment when applied to Mike.
Thank you very much.
it's basically a joke now we're screwed old gaurds gone incompetent fuck wits remain welcome to corporations !
This is nothing unusual. Last year many teams have had members moved to another project, which turned out to be D4, and witi Activision forcing Blizzard to push out new games with an increased speed these movements will become more and more often to save money. If they are satisfied with the state of the game they don't need as much team members working on it so they just switch them around. Other companies do that all the time but unless you follow them as closely as you follow Blizzard you don't know that it is a common thing.
He also went to RAID: SHADOW LEGENDS!
KAMARO USUMAN : WHOOOO?
Hearstone battle royale!
Hearthstone 2 maybe
I think they need to close the server and kill HS, we all are ready for the new HS clone.
