Descent of Dragons Meta Decks - Galakrond's Awakening Week 1
It's week 1 of Galakrond's Awakening and the meta keeps slowly changing, likely too slowly for the new cards to have made any widespread impact yet. We will see what happens next week but for this week it seems largely the same decks we have gotten used to.
The Mid-Range
Alternatively we could have called this "Pick a Rogue, Any Rogue" cause BOY, there's a lot of Rogue decks around.

Posted Jan 25, 2020 (GA Week 1)now all i duel against is hunter and its getting very annoying when im just trying to play a nice long chess like match only to get defeated in 5 turns which is not fun considering how its almost every duel mind you

Posted Jan 24, 2020 (GA Week 1)I just can’t understand why when Paladin was polling as the least played class (and here comes 35 all new cards)! they wouldn’t take that opportunity to balance things out, instead of giving us some cards that won’t make most deck lists but shaman gets a legendary weapon? Why don’t you throw rogue a legendary weapon too just for kicks & giggles? The Hearthstone meta is currently about as “fair & balanced” as Fox News.

Posted Jan 24, 2020 (GA Week 1)I've been playing the deck over the last couple days - it completely dumpsters Rogue. They cannot do anything to the non-targetable taunts. Only Flik can kill them, but they come back with Witching Hour so they're not even removed from the game.

Posted Jan 24, 2020 (GA Week 1)Yeah we mentioned it in the lead. It's only been around 2,5 days with the new cards befor this article was written, so there just wasn't quite the time yet for cards to break into the meta.
I suspect next week might see more movement as people will have had more time to experiment and Shaman will get 2 solid cards, which might lead to a resurgence. Then again, the current decks are all well entrenched and successful so there's also not much need for people to experiment.
It's been a long while since we had a set that did not shake up the meta significantly so I'm still pretty confident that a shake up of some kind will happen. We'll just have to wait for it to be reflected in the top decks we see in the meta.
