Balance Changes Coming - More Details Next Week
Blizzard, through Dean Ayala, a.k.a. IskarHS, tweeted out upcoming balance changes that they will share more information about next week. Read about it below where we quoted the tweet he sent.
Quote from BlizzardPlanning another balance patch. Will share some more information next week as we solidify.
Some of the Galakrond decks are just a touch more powerful than they need to be to be successful.
Also contemplating light changes to non-Galakrond archetypes like Pirate War and DR Rogue.
I hope that dh rouge and pirat warrior will get good nerfs, but i just get idea how blizz could change all galakronds and their invokes. Normal galakrond should cost 7 mana, but each upgrade should make him cost 1 mana more (1st form 7 mana, 2nd form 8 mana and final form 9 mana) i think that that would be fine for everyone!
That's not a nerf, you just make it annoying to use while not fixing the issue. Also it would take more work than just changing numbers. Galakrond needs upgrade requirements from 2 to 3 so he can't be maxed with just 2 minions. Also a lot of Gala based minions are overpowered(3 mana 3x3/2 with rush, 4 mana 5/4 draw 3 cards, 5 mana 2x5/6, Ritual chopper which is just great trade tool and Kronx with perfect answers for most of the cases).
And Pirate Warrior just needs nerfs on Ancharrr, Skybarge and Parachute brigand and it might be enough. Rogue needs a nerf on Necrium Apothecary, Galakrond(which will be 100% done) and maybe Necrium Blade if it's not enough.
Obilisk quest reward should give +2/+2 instead of +3/+3. It would still be very strong, just not as suffocating after jsut one turn.
I don’t get it. If you nerf the Galakrond decks that entire thing goes away. Are they really too powerful? Seems to me DR rogue and and res priest do amazing. The only Galakronds that still feel amazing are Warrior and Shaman. Rogue and Lock don’t feel overpowered and priest sure as hell isnt.
Galakrond cards are overstated compared to alternatives(3 mana 3x3/2 with rush, 4 mana 5/4 draw 3 cards, 5 mana 2x5/6, Ritual chopper which is just 2 get a great trade, Kronx with a perfect answers for most of the cases), Galakrond stacks too fast while giving fuel/good trades(Why would there be invoke twice cards that give instant tier) and the max stack effects are way too cheap (Warlock is the only exception to this one since the results are pure RNG). The only decks that keep up are decks that are just broken like DR rogue or have a lot of threats like res Priest.
Galakrond, Pirate Warrior, and DR Rogue nerfs? Looks like Resurrect Priest will be the best deck in the meta.
yeha that's kind of the problem with nerfs. People would just go on to the next highest winrate deck. I think that open access to winrates in itself is the biggest problem, though.
But isn't the Resurrect Priest also playing the Gala package?
My Maly Druid deck has 100% wr against Resurrect Priest so I would be really happy
@Milhail Nope, the most popular versions do not.
Just for the sake of argument perhaps (Druid is my preferred class and it’s a rough world even with Treants Deck if you don’t draw the two card draws your dead in the water almost) I remember when everyone said shaman was overpowering and it’s wr was 60+. Now it’s a tier 2 deck with an average under 55 wr or was last I looked. When they nerfed shaman everyone seemed to think it making them slower would make it manageable and with the huge wr drop (Less wr than Treant Druid) I don’t know that Galakrond is the problem since Priest and warlocks actual Galakrond play is already not very good. (Priests don’t even fully invoke a lot of the time and ‘random RNGesus demons could be insignificant) So nerfing the actual Galakrond cards to 8 mana as a few stated isn’t a good answer imo. As for the Necrium Apothecary no offense but I hope the card everyone is summoning with it gets nerfed into useless crap where cards go to die kinda nerf. The dragon draw sucks but can be managed, having 1 drop 15/15 charge boars on turn 5 is about as much fun to play against or fair to play with as it is if Mike Tyson walked up and called me out for no reason and as he beat me to death unfairly bit my ear off.
rant over: Maybe they should look at buffing the ‘good classes’
First of all: im glad to hear they actually LOOK AT ITS OWN GAME !
Secondly this chaos, shows finaly that Our beloved Blizzard has either no respect for theirs client or has no clue to how make a decent card game.
The problem isnt that the firt made cards are strong, it is that complex of creativity and fun is killed by brainless plays. For me ladder now is only: Galkrond Rogue or Warrior or Ress Priest. In two last scenarios this Game is simply Boring. The opponent lives trough turn 8 YOU LOSE.
But the most frustrating is Galakrond Rogue for me. You can easly control the game for the most time, but then they go wild with all those free cards by turn 7-8 and fun is over. Sorry but "0 mana Galakrond to 0 mana ALex to 0 mana Nozari" in turn 7 with 8 health left just kill my enjoy for this game.
Peace.
Watch what you post/say on these forums. I said something similar about waiting until I make some decks using DoD cards, and the snowflakes flipped out and down voted the hell out of the post.
Tread (post) lightly........
:/
And that, kids, is exactly you dont preorder. You wait a month for them to nerf everything to oblivion and then you decide :P If they gonna come out again in 2 weeks and say "we nerf highlander too", Im done...
Or pre-order, abuse the op stuff, then get full dust to make new decks.
That's true if you don't mind not playing at all. Otherwise, it's not terribly realistic.
Also, some people pre-order just for the hero portrait or the golden legendary.
Hearthstone's meta is literally more often bad than good, so if you consider yourself a Hearthstone player, there's not much point in waiting. You already know it's going to be bad most of the time.
The only real reason not to pre-order is if you are actually quitting the game for an extended period.
Blizzard's strategy:
Let's print many broken cards in order to receive many preorders, we will nerf all after.
This is very dirty. Many people made the pre-order because the expansion was broken.
Idk why this is downvoted, lol it's true.
Konami has been doing it for years, and unfortunately Blizzard has gotten so reliant on power creep to stay a relevant game that it must do it too.
Its basic moba expierence and i knew hearthstone was also part of it. patch to death for income and interest
To be honest ppl should have seen that from a mile when getting pre-order.
