Obvious question but with amalgam gone, outside of playing as curator is there any dragons to receive menagerie magician's buff? Coz that's a nerf too
Earliest Balance and Worst Balance.
This Expansion is making some great records
All the nerfs make sense but not sludge slurper. That one is dumb. Now it’s a 1/1 that gives a lackey and overload. That’s.. kind of bad.
Just noticed I somehow have 4 extra copies of Mogu Fleshshaper, one of which is golden, Sometimes it pays off to be lazy at disenchanting.
Just a quick reminder to illustrate how insanely overpowered Poisonous is in Battlegrounds: These are essentially the exact same card since you can't hit face.
Faceless Corruptor should be 4/3. With the "nerf" at 4/4, they still can kill most early minions and stay alive.
Look. 2 bodies of 4/4 = 8/8 stats. If you discount the 1/1 body of the token used, that's still 7/7 body stats... with rush. Broken.
Why the hell the nerf to Sludge Slurper Blizzard? That card is fine thanks to overload. Remove overload then. That's not the problem with shaman, Blizzard. Are you drunk?
Corrupt Elementalist looks correct, even thought the "invoke twice" still is a problem.
Mogu Fleshshaper is a card really difficult to nerf. As many people said, now they can summon big 10 drop minions. Maybe Mogu should get discount only by your minions (or only enemy minions).
Now, where's is nerf to Dragon's Pack ? That card is broken and shaman will just ignore the "nerf" of today. +2/+2 iinstead of +3/+3 is a balanced nerf to it.
I think they didn't nerf Dragon's Pack because it's an epic card...
Only rare cards have be nerfed to not give too much dust to people. Blizzard you're greedy!
Part of me is wondering if these nerfs were made with the new cards coming with the adventure in mind. For example a card that de-invokes (downgrades) Galakrond or a card that resets all cards in hand to their base form (removes hand buffs, upgrades, embiggen, etc) or a card that negates Rush. It would make sense for them to be doing this level of testing, but you never do know.
Will they remove Curator from Battlegrounds, or change his Hero Power ? He will be super OP if he stays.
Ah I was hoping constructed could become fun with the nerfs but I'll stay away as the nerfs to Shaman are not significant enough. Will wait for another patch and stay with Battlegrounds.
I kinda liked the nerfs. They do not put any of the cards as useless crap and put shammy in a more fair ground, but still very strong. Since this was such a fast response, if they keep balance changes like that, I think its ok to keep gradually balancing cards, instead of 2 months of ShammanStone and then nerf everything to the ground like they usually do. I'm pretty sure that rogue is next in line if it gets too crazy at ladder.
4400 dust for me but i will probly have to craft many of them again so 3600 dust if i craft 2 of each
Removal of Amalgam absolutely kills menagerie decks for everything but the Curator. Both the Zoobot and Menagerie Warden are going to miss dropping stats because there are NO dragons to hit at the moment. Lightfang is also taking a big it because it's missing a dragon to hit now. Brann is a slight hit to murlocs cause now they can't ramp AS much because they have a lot of cheap and early buffs but it's still going to be much stronger than the Beasts/Demon/Mech options because they have the only access to poison. I can see a rise in Mechs/Bolvar Divine Shield decks as a partial counter but at the end of the day it's way to easy to get a board full of murlocs and high roll a megasaur for Divine Shield. They started to hit the problem but didn't do enough.
They will add dragons soon
Lightfang Enforcer does not hit Dragons. Also they've removed the Brann Hero, not the Brann card. But I do agree Zoobot and Menagerie warden will seem lost without Amalgam. I think Blizzard could replace them with Battlegrounds exclusive cards that hit Demons instead of Dragons. To boost Demons a bit
Whoops, I guess I just lost a lot of reading there, Brann being removed from the pool is nice for the time being because battlecry murlocs are way too good right now. Didn't know why I thought enforcer hit dragons, I'm just so used to it hitting an amalgam and 3 three other minions. But yeah demons and beasts need the help. Beasts only have the Hyena as a trump card and Demons have almost nothing with Mal'ganis, Voidlord and the big +1 for all damage taken which aren't that impactful. Here's hoping they add something for some more synergies instead of ONLY one tribe. Menagerie setups are fun and interesting to set up as opposed to literally a board of murlocs with divine shield and poisonous
Seeing as this is entirely targeted towards shaman... Wont this create massive issues for the other "almost" over powered decks? Deathrattle Rogue comes to mind as something that will have potential to just run away after this change. I do not mind fast buffs or nerfs to keep meta healthy. But this feels like putting a band aid on a broken leg and saying it is fixed right?
amalgam complete removal is poor decision to make, poisonous is the real problem of this game.
Completely agreed. Poison is reasonable in regular HS because they have low attack so they don't hit face that hard. In Battlegrounds a minion with poison is essentially the same as a minion with 1.000.000 attack.
You could, but it wouldn't really achieve anything.
