Descent of Dragons Balance Changes Coming - Including Shaman Changes
Blizzard posted a message that Balance Changes are planned for somewhere in the next week, with a specific mention of changes to Shaman. Read the full statement below:
Quote from BlizzardHey Folks,
Just to give a heads up - we’re working on a balance update that will arrive within the next week with card adjustments for Descent of Dragons, including some changes aimed at Shaman. Any cards that are affected will be given full Arcane Dust refunds.
Stay tuned for more details next week.
Cheers,
The Hearthstone Team
So if they wait to balance cards, everyone gets pissed off about them doing nothing. If they balance right away, they are incompetent? Can we never be happy?
No a whole community can never be happy as a whole (also your comment is useless bc you are complaining), but shudder battlecries shaman with the new cards was already pointed out early and was super easy to expect, it's just ridicoulus that they didn't tested well this deck, bc is the only explainable reason.
How did this shit ever get trough testing phase? Everyone predicted shaman would be OP as shit asa the cards were announced without even seeing them in play, yet blizzard could not predict this? Better to prevent than to cure.
the card is so ridiculously strong that some decks are running Wisp just to have an activator. it‘s way too strong.
5 mana 5/6 without Rush could work.
It is just (a bunch of?) testers against millions of Hearthstone players...the chance to overlook something in a complex game such as HS is quite high...happens in software dev all the time :)
No actually it was very obvious and many individuals knew this was going to be a powerful deck. It's not like we needed the entire community to work it out. What happens when you have a powerful deck and add even more really powerful cards? You get an overpowered deck. The testers aren't just randomly selected people, they should be good at their job.
A while ago I remember Brode saying that any point in the game, the next set is done, the one after that is getting the finishing touches, and the one after that is being fleshed out. They know exactly what they're doing.
Yeah, but if you look at this quote about Shudderwock back when Witchwood was being released:
https://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/general-discussion/215811-ben-brode-interview-even-he-realizes-shudderwock
it kinda makes it seem like development isn't really that structured and the Game Director doesn't even have final say. So things that are OP might just get approved anyway.
Actually is Holy Wrath Paladin, so a fast drawing OTK deck that can use Timeout twice. Don't know how many classes are out there that can handle the Shaman's pressure and OTK him, that have the tools(removals, Timeout) that Paladins have. Even aggro is doomed against the rush elementals from Invoke keyword.
Well there is been many neutral cards that have been nerfed because being too strong, creeper, giggling, bonemare etc. Bonemare is good example orginal 7 mana 5/5 that gives 4/4 and taunt with two less mana you get almost same stats but while without other minion bonemare was 5/5 faceless corruptor have still strong effect being rush.
Bad argument. Lot of neutral cards have been nerfed in the past.
The problem with it being ridiculously strong is that if one person draws it and the other doesn’t that person has a ridiculous advantage which makes for some pretty lame games.
Cool :) I just finished crafting my full golden wild Galakrond zoo deck so now I can craft a full golden Galakrond shaman, abuse it in standard until nerf and then just dust it and move on to another full golden wild deck. Neat!
You'll receive your dust back only for a several cards they'll nerf. But something tells me that this is not particularly important for you.
It is a bit of a gamble but if I craft a golden Galakrond and quest and get the refund for at least one of those that would make the entire ordeal a bit more worth the trouble :)
y so mad lol?
Faceless Corruptor is fine, in my opinion. Its a strong card but everyone has access to it so it balances itself. The problem is shaman's invoke and all the rush minions shaman now have access to. Its oppressive and any board you can build is never safe. The 2-1 elementals has to lose rush, and the 8-8s has to lose rush. Also the button needs to be changed to only enhance one battlecry, and not the entire turn. Also the asshat minion that invokes twice, is too strong. It needs to invoke once only.
“Everyone has access to it so it’s balance” Remember 5 mana Giggling Inventor? Everyone also has access to it and it turns out quest rouge became extremely powerful so no, It’s not balanced. This is basically the same scenario except Faceless Corruptor is even worse
pirates please, from nerfic
