Descent of Dragons Balance Changes Coming - Including Shaman Changes
Blizzard posted a message that Balance Changes are planned for somewhere in the next week, with a specific mention of changes to Shaman. Read the full statement below:
Quote from BlizzardHey Folks,
Just to give a heads up - weβre working on a balance update that will arrive within the next week with card adjustments for Descent of Dragons, including some changes aimed at Shaman. Any cards that are affected will be given full Arcane Dust refunds.
Stay tuned for more details next week.
Cheers,
The Hearthstone Team
Shudderwock rotates in a few months. Though it honestly doens't feel soon enough.
I mean it wouldn't be the first time they wait until something's going to rotate out anyway before finally nerfing it. Remember Patches? That card didn't get nerfed until 3 months before it rotated out, or all the nerfs That happened during Rastakhan's Rumble, like 5 months before a rotation anyway? Blizzard likes waiting until the last minute nerf things that will rotate anyway.
Nerf all Legendary cards please!!!
So, I can craft them all~
Hey you standard crybaby normies, stay the fck away from my quest, you can nerf the rest of the new shit to oblivion but the quest is actually a necessity for a number of fun decks in wild,so keep your hands and tears off.
Standard people just being themselves. You have to get used to them not knowing what broken is, they're not playing the format where even the fun decks are broken beyond imagination if they were met on standard.
Standard be crybabies and such, you have to accept it, just as you have to accept it when Blizzard pushes changes for standard after every cry of a standard player just because they called it "standard" and are treating is as the "main" gamemode even though it doesn't differ any bit from wild when comes to basics. But the eternal formats are REALLY hard to balance, that's why they don't try to do it as much.
Wild got only like 4-5 balance changes entire Hearthstone existence, that's how many standard gets every expac. Standard players are just waay to spoiled by it, they're used when something is slightly more powerful they get a nerf to compensate for it. Did we ever get a nerf for Voidcaller + Voidlord combo? No. If the combo were on standard, the Voidcaller would have already have changed description. But when something touches sacred balance of standard, the nerf is like around the corner. It's a classic Blizz strategy.
All in all, standard players are crybabies because Blizzard spoiled them way too much, not because they neccesarly are whiny, it's just they're used to balanced gamemode. In wild we're more patient, because hell, how long we had to wait for Barnes nerf? Standard players would have already stormed Blizzard building if that was case for their sacred format. Wild was created for more broken decks overall, that's why decks like Cubelock, Reno decks, Pirate Warrior or Secret mages are allowed, instead of waiting to nerf every mildly broken deck (or way too broken compared to standard) we just adjust our strategies to conquer the deck via alternative solution or giving techs to the decks (secret mage is a problem? Just tech Eater of Secrets).
"They must nerf 15 cards" *names one specific card*.
Having passive rush on mechs for the rest of the game for 7 mana was broken. So is having 4 8/8s with rush and a weapon for 9 mana.
Except, there are always one of three components which are featured in literally every absurd winrate deck.
1) Having an accessible board state that can only be removed through very few, specific cards/combos. E.g. Molten Giant Mage, Caverns Below, Galakrond Shaman.
2) Having an accessible OTK combo. E.g. Patron Warrior, Windfury/Rockbiter Leeroy, snipsnap priest, basically the entire charge mechanic that caused Blizzard to only print Rush.
3) Being uninteractive to the point where one player just sits and watches the screen, with any card plays being near meaningless, outside of RNG E.g. Shudderwock Shaman and face decks.
Complaints the most dominant Hearthstone decks are valid. And Blizzard's nerfing policies have been consistent since day 1. Sometimes they're fucking slow. But they're consistent.
It's also silly how much of an all encompassing keyword battlecry is now.
EVERY minion that invokes or discovers is a battlecry. And it's 100% an expansion problem. Choose One and Overload cards aren't Battlecries, despite also being keywords which only trigger when played, unless stated otherwise.
So I was so excited for this expansion and I was looking forward to play my priest deck all weekend. Out of more than 20 games, 80% are the same shamans, and even during games that I get all my removal spells in a row and I clear their board, they just vomit some more. This shaman is so oppressive for all other decks. Is crazy. As of now, they only way to advance is to play Galakrond shaman, which I dont like. Lets see what the nerfs look like.
The typical stages of Hearthstone grief.......
1) This new expansion looks trash......
2) Oh there are a couple interesting cards......
3) Wow, this new expansion is pretty fun to play......
4) Man, that was a pretty brutal loss.......
5) Why does Blizzard keep matching me against this damn deck........
6) Friggin netdeckers.............
7) I’m going to Hearthpwn to start a nerf thread, this is ridiculous.......
8) About time Blizzard did a balance update........
9) God dammit! Friggin netdeckers!! New Nerf!! New Nerf!!
Anything less than 15 or more cards being massively overnerfed to the ground don't will be enough.
Yes, this is how broken shaman is right now.
7 manas, equip a 5/2 weapon, summon x2 8/8 rush, gain 5 armor.
Every hero card for all classes in HS history is in garbage tier compared to this and they nerf Boom...
WHAT HELL THEY ARE THINKING???
Just nerf shaman and put Scavenging Hyena in the Hall of Fame
They just have to make tempest galakrond summon1, 2 and 4 elementals that are 4/4 instead of 2 8/8.
- It would be still in line with other galakronds average outcome.
- It's easier to trade and AoE 4/4 elementals.
- Shaman would have to waste damage to clear some stronger minions, like 5/5 and 6/6 minions.
- Quest Shaman would receive less benefit from doubling the battlecry since he would lose 1or more elementals because of board space.
16-1 so far, Lost to a sham my - enjoy the free wins while you can Bois! πππππ
Easy. If you only play three or so ranked games a day, you will equilibrate at a rank range where you have about a 60% win rate. Even if you have all the cards you need it’s hard to sustain that kind of win rate below rank ten.
Some of have lives and can’t play a dozen ranked games per day, plus all the ancillary play.
that was fast, i remember in the past we waited for balance changes for months, they dont do any testing in betas ?
i haven't played since like the second day of release because of the shamans and Faceless Corruptor everywhere
imagine trying to insult somebody because he only reaches rank 5 (as if legend would mean anything)
poor soul
Well, that rank might be the threshold dividing those who can just copy the most successful decks and play them, and those who can actually design those decks.
It WAS fair back before DoD. But the quest is by far the easiest quest in the game to complete. Moreso than some Sidequests.
But its its retarded to think that 40 health has any impact on gamestate other than fatigue. Whereas 4 8/8s with Rush and a 5/2 weapon is a boardstate that very few cards can handle. Especially when its followed by Shudderwock who makes 4 more.
