Yeah you’re right, it obviously sucks. I assume you got early access to the set too and have been testing the decks? Smh
I bet you were up on the mountain telling everyone that shudderwock decks wernt a thing and never would be before any witchwood cards were revealed
Malylock was a thing actually and it used dragon synergy.
Blizzard: Moves Mind Blast to Hall of Fame, because huge face damage shouldn't be Priest class identity.
Also Blizzard: Fuck yeah, all classes are about dragons now.
And? Where's the flaw in logic here?
Doing direct face damage ISN'T priest's identity, and as such a card that does only that does not belong in priest's classic or basic set, which are almost entirely focused on what should and shouldn't be each classes individual strengths and weaknesses (Of course there are hits and misses, and hopefully blizz irons out the misses).
This is an expansion set themed around dragons, akin to how Whispers of the Old Gods was themed around, you guessed it, the Old Gods and a what-if scenario if they all emerged again with a lot of cards being corrupted versions of older cards. So of course the dragon-themed expansion set is going to have DRAGONS in it. For every class. This has been a very common tactic for every single TCG ever.
An example and pretty direct comparison is MtG's "Khans of Tarkir" block of sets, which were ALSO all themed around dragons, and suddenly there were mono-colored dragons in all 5 colors, despite the fact that dragons are primarily red since the game's inception, with only notable legendary dragons (who were important in the lore) breaking out of that piece of the color identity.
Woah! This is really really good - like Dusk breaker but better. Let's hope Warlock can actually build around Dragons!
To all *other* characters I guess? Because otherwise, it will hurt himself.
I’d assume that it’s implied, given if it wasn’t this would be the first card that has this effect that would damage itself
It's not implied, we have other cards which all use 'other 'in the wording and this is notably different. I think it plays into the flavour of the card being a deranged dragon, which is happy to damage itself
A 5/2 plus hellfire seems more reasonably costed aswell
Or maybe it's just a mistranslation/shrug
It will be a 5/5, deal 3 damage to everything else but not its self. Its consistent in terms of wording, look at Dread Infernal.
Abyssal Enforcer: Look at me! I'm a decent sized minion with an awesome AoE battlecry and a relevant tribe! I'm awesome!
Deranged Netherwing: Hold my beer.
abyssal enforcer doesnt' have a condition though and it's one of the best arena cards ever.
Don't take jokes too seriously. :-P
That said, besides the condition Deranged Netherwing is much better overall. Of course, that condition means you won't be running it in any old deck and makes it weaker in arena, but overall it's a fantastic card that could push dragonlock, if such a thing is possible.
Outright just insane, being a better Duskbreaker only issue is just gotta hope warlock gets some more good dragon support to truly utilize this, and of course the neutral set has to be good which it’s ok so far
Also this is a INSANE arena card
All i want is a midrange dragon warlock
