Friday Fun Decks - Week 10

Friday Fun Decks

What's better than after a long week of grinding things out at work, school or Ranked Ladder to kick back and relax with some Friday Fun Decks going into the weekend?

Well, we brought you a selection of decks to do just that. There's some standard decks, some wild decks, but most of all these are decks with interesting cards that haven't seen much use, Archetypes that have been forced out by better competition in the same class and combos that are often too unreliable to see play on the Ranked Ladder, but they are FUN. Truth be told though not everyone's idea of fun will be the same, so we cast a wide net and hopefully brought something for everyone.

Let's dive in!

OTK Auchenai Priest

With the return of several cards to Standard due to the Doom in the Tomb event, we more or less expected to see several decks try to reincorporate those cards for fun decks and we were not disappointed.

This Standard deck uses Emperor Thaurissan to bring down the cost of a deadly combo with Prophet Velen and Auchenai Phantasm. This won't be the last time we see a combo deck with the old Emperor!

Renodia Paladin

This Wild deck combines 2 archetypes we have seen in the past, Exodia Paladin and Highlander Paladin, and has proven quite succesful in the Wild ranked meta, despite definitely not being a meta deck.

The deck wins by going for the popular Shirvalla/Holy Wrath blast or by grinding out the opponent with the many ways to extend the game and get the Four Horsemen summoned by Uther of the Ebon Blade's Hero Power.

Star Aligner OTK Rogue

Another week, another MarkMcKz deck that looks like amazing fun. This particular Standard deck hinges on Star Aligner to pull off it's OTK.

The idea is to thin your deck and survive in the first place, and play Heistbaron Togwaggle twice second. Then shuffle in as many Star Aligners as you can with Togwaggle's Scheme and then draw them with Wondrous Wand. The stars aligning indeed.

Definitely Not Warlock

Okay, this might get confusing, but this Standard deck looks very much like a Warlock deck, but it is not actually one. It may look like a Warlock deck with cards like Dark Pharaoh Tekahn that you could in theory use to win the game, but that's just more or less an accident.

No, this deck is very much a Priest deck. Or maybe a Hunter deck? Quite possibly a Shaman deck even. But definitely not a Warlock deck, even with cards like Renounce Darkness. Definitely not.

Egg Deathrattle Hunter

How do you like your eggs? Well we like ours with 5/5 Dinosaurs popping out of them. This Wild deck introduces the popular Egg zoo archetype for Hunter and it's quite successful.

Hunter has historically always had good Deathrattle synergy, which is what all these Eggs are. So with cards like Feign Death, Nine Lives and Terrorscale Stalker you can break a lot of eggs. You just won't get an omellete out of it.

Heal Druid

Heal Druid is a largely forgotten archetype in the current meta, but this Standard deck tries to change that. Lucentbark is the main engine of this deck and using, abusing and letting him flourish is your main goal with this deck.

The creator of this deck piloted it to Legend rank and has included a thorough guide on what to look out for and how to best approach certain situations. Well worth a read if you enjoy this type of deck!

Pirate Shaman

We literally laughed out loud when we saw the deck title. Pirate Shaman? really? Pirates are typically in aggressive decks with Weapon synergy, how would that work in Shaman?

But then we realized that 1) Shaman decks typically are very aggressive and 2) Shaman class has quite a lot of good weapons. On inspecting the deck list this proved true, and although this deck can likely use some optimization and tinkering, with it's heavy dose of weapons in it, it also shows that it could all fit together very well and make for some great, unexpected, fun times. And those are the best.

That's it for this "Friday Fun Decks", hope you find these decks as fun and interesting as we did when we put this list together. If not, why not post your idea of a fun deck in the comments, for future inspiration to us and the rest of the community!

Cheers and have a good Weekend!
