Initially I was excited for the return of the games but then I realized that so many countries have been eliminated and on top of that the qualification changes and the lack of the fan vote, etc. This is a bad move by Blizzard. Global games are supposed to showcase Global Love and participation by the hearthstone community, and now to have the participating countries reduced from 48 to 32 is really bad.
no Indonesia?
Indonesia doesn't exist, stop trying to fool us
Prize money is a joke for such a popular game. Compare this to other games and it's surprising anyone even bothers to play competitively
apparently it's not that popular anymore. pack purchases are down by a huge margin compared to previous years as well as attendance of their events. also why should anyone watch these tournaments when you see the same stuff everyday in game anyway?
I wonder when will packs comes to this tournament, I think a lot of people who actually watch the actual interesting tournaments (me included) dont watch this.
Great job blizz, cut a massive amount of countries with great players like Switzerland, Austria, Finland, Portugal and that's only some of the countries in europe. On top of that the information on how to qualify for HGG comes a month before and they cut players from 4 to 2.... It's amazing people still play the game.
what has any tournament to do with playing this game?
the majority of HS players have never watched a single game of any tournament
and while I myself used to watch some of the major tournaments, with the current system there is just way too much of it so I stopped watching them altogether, but did it stop me from playing the game? nope, why would it
Okay I'll rephrase it to "It's amazing people that wants to play the game competitively still play the game". The semi-professional community is left to die and Hearthstone has become really top-heavy.
holy crap, teams of 2 instead of 4. can you believe it? innovation overload!
almost fell outta my chair there. plz warn me beforehand
