Tombs of Terror Solo Adventure Release - Chapter 4 and Finale Today!
It's the last release day of the Tombs of Terror Adventure, with Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 (dubbed The Finale by Blizzard). Not much is known about the Finale, cause Blizzard has been tight lipped, but we datamined some very interesting things and tried to put 2+2 together to give you some ideas about what might happen.
This post summarizes the most important things you need to know for today. For all the indepth knowledge and Encounter strategies check our Tombs of Terror Information and Strategy Guide!
What is Tombs of Terror?
Tombs of Terror is a solo adventure in the Dungeon-run style, where you can play as 1 of 4 Dual-Class Explorers and build your character and deck with a choice of cards, Hero Powers and treasures from 2 classes. The goal is to defeat the given PvE Encounters in a Chapter. Each Chapter typically has 8 Encounters, somewhat randomly chosen from a pool of them restricted to this Chapter.
What Time does the Adventure Release?
LIVE right now.
How do I unlock the Chapters?
The Chapters unlock with the Deluxe pre-order, individually for 700 in-game gold (or €6.99 EUR/$6.99 USD) or all Chapters at once in a €14.99 EUR/$14.99 USD launch bundle.
What are the Rewards?
You can earn 3 Saviors of Uldum card packs for beating 5 bosses in a Chapter. There's an additional golden Classic pack for clearing all four chapters and card backs for deating all 5 chapters on Normal and Heroic mode. You can see the Card Backs HERE.
What can you expect?
Chapter 4: The Halls of Origination.
- Location: Takes place in the Halls of Origination, a dungeon area known from the MMORPG.
- Hero Unlock: Brann Bronzebeard, a Hunter and Warrior class Hero. Find out all his treasures, Hero Powers and starting decks in the Heroes section of our main guide.
- End Boss: Icarax, Plague Lord of Wrath.
- Chapter Twist: Twist - Plague of Wrath which is fairly straightforward. If a minion takes damage and survives, it gets +1 attack. This is not an enrage effect so it should stay present even if you heal minions afterwards.

Chapter 5: The Finale.
- Location: Unknown.
- Hero Unlock: There are no Hero unlocks in this Final Chapter, but we datamined some decks that you get to play with in this Chapter. Find these decks and spoilers about how it all works in the Chapter 5 Strategy Guide found HERE!
- End Boss: Tekahn, Plague Lord of Flame.
- Chapter Twist: There's no official Chapter Twist that changes game play in this Chapter.
- We know about Chapter 5: The Finale, now and added the info to our earlier guesses in this spoiler tag:
Our guesswork below turned out to be true. Tekahn is the ONLY fight in the Finale, and it's a doozy. You pick your Hero, and your Hero Power, then get assigned a random deck associated with this Hero consisting of 30 cards. We datamined those decks and they are in the Chapter 5 guide linked below. Then, as a massive plot twist, You get EVERY treasure you unlocked for that Hero during the first 4 chapters (the personal Treasure for each Hero you pick before you start, not the treasures you pick between chapters).
We did some basic math and counted the number of bosses in each Chapter so far. If we continue the trend for Chapter 4, it will mean there are 76 bosses used in the 4 Chapters out of the 78 announced (and datamined) Bosses. That means Chapter 5: The Finale potentially only has 2 bosses in it and maybe even only Tekahn. Combined with the decks we datamined, there's potential that we face this last Chapter with specific, 30 card, constructed decks and only face Tekahn. Check out more details and the Decks we datamined in the Chapter 5 Strategy Guide found HERE.

Good luck and have fun!
I think he is talking about the twist's, like a plague of murlocs, right most minion attack and not the anomalies that gives passives that changes after you lose and that change every few hours if you don't like them.
you do control them. you choose to put them in play or not by disabling them if you dont like them.
What? I think you can't control twists. You can control anomalies. I hate Twists aswell, but I think bosses are designed in base of the twitsts, so...
Vaanksh is right, don't know why he's getting downvoted and the other guy is getting upvoted. Each chapter 1-4 has a twist, like murlocs in chapter 1. This can't be changed. Anomalies are effects you can turn on or off, separate from the chapters.
Other Guy here,
I didnt know a "twist" was the official name for each chapter's flavor. I thought OP was calling the anomalies a twist. I still dont understand the big deal on each chapter's "twist" and why the hatred. Dont like it? Dont do it.
Love the whole adventure so far!
Only thing I'd change is to make all treasures / passives appear equally often. Could be just me, but I've seen some 10+ times and others only once or twice.
Edit: As far as I can remember that is. I'm just kinda sad I've only gotten the upgraded tavern one onle once.
Ikr? I never got bob's bombastic deck with VIP tavern nor the treasure which you can copy the boss skill
same, I've played over 20 runs with no VIP tavern, been searching for it....
This has been a blast thus far hoping for some good twists etc. for the Finale, GLHF all...
Just the phrase Plague of Flames reminds me of a certain dragon
Who is ready to see what the final plaugue summons?
Can't wait to get my hands on the new chapter. I really love that solo content!
I wish all of you guys out there a lot of fun diving into the tombs with Brann Bronzebeard!
(and of course, I wish you all to beat the new plague lord in one go!)
Wish there was hidden boss that was named Bob, Plague Lord of Cards
Seeing how Bob appeared 2 adventures in a row and knowing that 3rd expansion this year will be thematically linked with first 2, we can hope for Bob the Boss in 4 months from now :^)
I miss trap room and rare encounter murloc in first Dungeon Run
