Grandmasters Deck Lists - Week 6
Today we are bringing you the decklists of the winners of our highlighted matches from our Grandmasters Week 5 Preview post. So if you still need to watch those games, stop reading now and go do that first, because spoilers are ahead!
There seems to be a slow tightening of the differences between players going on, as it seemed more games than usual ended up in 2-1 scores. This might be a precursor to some upsets happening in the later parts of this Grandmasters stage, just as they did this weekend.
Here are this week's deck lists, with a little information about how the games went down.
Strifecro's Decklists
Both players shielded their Priest deck, with Strifecro getting his Shaman deck banned while Gallon got his Druid deck banned.
Gallon took game 1 with Priest, but then lost twice, to Strifecro's unusual "Highlander" Druid with his Shaman and to Priest with his Warrior. 2-1 Strifecro.

Kolento's Deck Lists
Kolento protected his Hunter deck and, surprisingly, did not get his Priest deck banned, but his Druid deck. Orange also got his Druid deck banned, while protecting his Priest deck.
Orange started off very strong with a Priest mirror match win where Kolento got nothing done, but then lost 2 in a row against Holy Wrath Paladin and Highlander Hunter, with Highlander Mage and Control Warrior respectively. 2-1 Kolento.

Staz's Deck Lists
Staz has been a Hunter main and has been shielding it basically throughout. He consequently got his Priest deck banned. DawN protected his Priest and got his Druid banned.
DawN having the highly regarded Priest deck did not help him however as it lost twice, first to Hunter, then to Quest Malygos Druid. A quick 2-0 for Staz.

Another week that looks exactly like last week
The meta has become so residentsleeper. Where's all the fun decks?
Does it surprise you that players who are playing for a chance to get into the World Championship are using the best decks. Fun decks are for born losers.
I think this is actually the best build for ladder as well as GM. Zephyrs is a staple in quest druid because you draw enough cards to support it. The late game is where Elise becomes an alternate win condition. For example, if you're facing otk paladin you can Elise to get an extra hidden oasis and innervate, to heal 24 in one turn, or double up on ferocious howls. If your facing shaman or warrior Elise can give you an extra wave of threats that can seal a closely fought game. King Phaoris also serves as an extra big board and a pressure tool in the slower matchups. The only deck that this druid is very bad against is combo priest or some other extremely quick aggro decks. No beeees...
poor feno, swidz, strifecro, rase, pathra and some other Asian thats gonna get relegated
How Strife's deck work with too much duplicates?
He just waits a very long time. Seems dumb, but he won with that exact druid deck and his Elise got him a duplicate Thrash and Duplicate Zephrys and he used those to win the game and the match.
It's greedy, but seemingly successful. At least in Tournament like play, like the GM is.
It also works because pro games tend to be longer and more control oriented. Unlike regular ranked play where it's more efficient to play faster games.
In other words, don't just copy these decks for ranked games, it's a whole different playstyle.
Another week same decks
That's just a meme at this point. We purposefully sought out winning decks that were different from the cookie cutter ones. And there were plenty of losing decks too that were different, like Orange's Highlander Mage, that we did not feature cause they lost.
