Hearthstone Update - Tombs of Terror - September 10th
Blizzard released the changes for Tombs of Terror.
Important tidbit, hidden at the end is the following: "Cards that Discover from a random pool no longer apply a class bonus. As Discover pools have gotten more specific, some are too narrow and repetitive. This change will increase the variety of cards from random Discover pools."
Which would seem to combat cards like Frightened Flunky discovering itself or other powerful cards from it's class set.

Game Improvements and Bug Fixes
- Discover:
- Cards that Discover from a random pool no longer apply a class bonus. As Discover pools have gotten more specific, some are too narrow and repetitive. This change will increase the variety of cards from random Discover pools.
- Fixed an issue causing the mouse cursor to become the eye cursor after exiting the Tavern in Tombs of Terror
- Dire Frenzy should now properly generate golden cards if the target minion is golden
- Hero powers rewarded from Quest cards should now properly become visually disabled on the turn the Hero power is rewarded if Mindbreaker is in play
- Elise the Enlightened will now duplicate cards in hand from left to right, instead of randomly
- Newly discovered Hero powers from Sir Finley of the Sands should now properly become visually disabled if Mindbreaker is in play
- Fixed several visual and sound issues when a Hero power is replaced (either by Quest completion or Sir Finley of the Sands) after the original Hero power was already used that turn
I get that this kills Warrior but it's too extreme. Discovering pack filler is going to suck.
Discovering 3 pack fillers is going to suck but that shouldn't happen that often. And even so it's supposed to be a random effect which can high roll as well as low roll, you are not supposed to get what you want 100% of the time!
This means that cards like Golden Scarab can no longer give you cards like Hex as Shaman for example? It's important to know in arena .
No mate. You can still discover class cards, it's just that the occurrence bonus has been removed. Before this change, class cards had an occurrence bonus when discovering which is why you would so often find class cards even though there are usually far more neutrals in the pool of possible discoveries.
How are people still not getting this?
You can get all the same cards you did, the discover pool didn't change at all for any card! The difference is now every card that meets the discover criteria has the same chance to show up as one of the 3 options.
Before this change class cards had a 4x occurrence bonus to balance how much more neutral cards there are. Now it's gone.
Yep, class cards have 4 times more chance to be discovered than neutral cards.
The Grand Finale is included with the 4th wing so if the first one is free, you're only spending 2100 gold. It's still not a good value but better than 2800.
nicely cardbacks
I'm not sure how I feel. I would have to see how it goes. I'm used to discovering Omega Defender. So if the developers think it will be better going forward than I guess I'm okay.
Finally.
stop being silly and greedy, refund for all discover cards? for what? Because you crafted them due to having class bonus discovery? Be realistic and think before you type.
Cards like Vulpera Scoundrel, Messenger Raven, Worthy Expedition, Magic Trick, Crystalsong Portal, Secret Plan, Kalecgos, Haunting Visions, for example are unchanged btw.
Damn, is it just me, or is the title of the news so misleading?
So hyped for the new adventurу... When read the title thought they have updated it's release from 17 to 10 th ((
But nope.
Can you put some punctuation in the title, or something...
Need to stretch out that content, because game is already stale.
... Through a fan site putting the current date in their article title? That doesn't make any sense.
Control Warrior can now find Tirion Fordring from Frightened Flunky.....
The end is nigh...! :-P
Lol
Is it? As I understand it class limitation stays, its class bonus chance that's gone. The was 25% (or something like that) more chances to discover card from your class. That's why Stonehill Defender was so strong in paladin, there were Tirion Fordring and Sunkeeper Tarim and Stonehill Defender had increased chances to discover one of them quite reliably. Now there equal chance for any card to appear, no matter its neutral or your class.
Though its may be me who wrong, whatever
Ah I could have misunderstood it then. I thought it meant that it was removing the class limitation on them, so as to increase the chance of getting something from a larger pool of options.
But now I re-read it, that may not be the case. Awkward wording!
Yes, Silved is correct. It is a actually a huge nerf to discover, especially in Wild where the discover pools will now be enormous.
"Choose one", "spell" and other class specific discovers will be untouched, though!
Yeah, i am also reading/understanding it as @Silved mentioned, and like @SlydE is saying in Wild this will be a major change, the pool was always the same but now you basicly have 3/X chance for all cards that meet the requirement of the discover , so no card is favored.
But its a good change for Standard as well , i dunno how many times i lost to Frightened Flunky discovering Armagedillo , was not rare for my opponents to find 1 but damn when they found 2 and played 3 of them in a match ....uuuufff
Any change that makes control warrior worse is a welcome one!
People my argue that control warrior is not that strong, and that is true it's not broken OP.
The thing about it is that it's so depressing to play against! The deck can answer any board state, wide board, huge minion, stealth minion, as soon as turn 5! And they can do it over and over and over again. Games with any kind of deck other that aggro take ages and in the end after a 30min game you don't even care if you win or lose you just want it to be over.
