Grandmasters Season 2 - Standings

Season 2 of the Hearthstone Grandmasters tournament is underway. Refueled with a fresh take on the Conquest Format, the season consists of 8 weeks of action followed by a week of playoffs. The winning player from each of the three regions earns the right to compete at the Global Finals to become Hearthstone's next World Champion!

  • Gallon is new to the Grandmasters scene.  He replaces Dog, who withdrew from the tournament after season 1.
  • Team Genji leads all competitive teams with 6 Grandmasters competing in the tournament.
  • It was a bad week for Season 1 winners, with PNC, Fenomeno, and Surrender all going 0-2 to start the tournament.
  • All 48 participants brought a Warrior deck and a Mage deck, widely considered the strongest classes in the meta.

The action will continue with Week 2 beginning next Friday. Tune in to the official PlayHearthstone Twitch channel to see what impact the upcoming nerf patch will have on the competitive scene.  PlayHearthstone

**Season 1 Winner - Qualified for Global Finals

Quote from Blizzard

We’re excited to share that BlizzCon will be the destination for the Hearthstone Global Finals this November! 8 players will duke it out at the Anaheim Convention Center in sunny California for their share of the $500,000 prize pool, the trophy, and the title of Hearthstone World Champion!

Both end-of-season playoffs will qualify one Grandmaster from each region to the Global Finals, meaning three Grandmasters will qualify through the Season 1 Playoffs, with three more qualifying through the Season 2 Playoffs. The final two players will qualify in through China’s Gold Open Series Playoffs, which will take place on July 20 and October 6.
