Meta Decks after the first week of Saviors of Uldum
A week into the expansion some of the early meta has crystalized and we have a reasonable idea of the available strong decks.
Let's walk you through some of them, divided up into different categories.
The Control Decks
Control Warrior made it into Saviors of Uldum not just still on top, but possibly better than before. It's defining the meta.
Mage has several different deck list variants that all do well, but the most consistent of these decks seems to be the one that combines the Freeze control elements with several different damage packages.

The Murloc Decks
Murlocs defining the meta? Yep. We saw it before the expansion with Murloc Shaman and that deck is still strong, but the surprisingly strong newcomer is Murloc Paladin.
The variant we post about here is one that has teched in 2x Shieldbreaker which should definitely be a big help in a meta defined by Control Warrior.

The Highlander Decks
There were many differing opinions about if Highlander decks would be any good before the expansion, but seemingly 2 did make it into high ranked play after release: Highlander Hunter and Mage.
Ironically neither deck is the only good deck in it's class. Mage is mentioned above and Secret Hunter and unchanged Mech Hunter still do well too. This Hunter deck runs strong cards from both those decks: a healthy amount of secrets and some mechs too, as well as the Highlander staples, like Dinotamer Brann and Zephrys the Great.

The Decks on a Budget
Not everyone has a ton of dust nor gold to buy packs and they are in need of a deck that is slightly friendlier to the budget. These decks clock in at 3820 (druid) and 4460 (hunter) dust TOTAL, including some commons you are likely to have.
These decks may give you a feeling of deja-vu though, as they have not changed much from how they looked before the expansion dropped. Hunter did add 2 of the new Secret Synergy Superstars Hyena Alpha.

The Other Decks
Lastly we have 2 decks that have decent winrates too, but aren't quite as easy to put in a category. The first one is Zoolock, which got a nice boost from adding EVIL Recruiter and Dark Pharaoh Tekahn.
The other one is a Priest combo deck that uses High Priest Amet as it's only legendary and still managed to get people high Legendary rank. Check out it's great guide!

Conclusion
It's still early in the Saviors of Uldum post release meta so who knows what developments we will still see in the future, and these are certainly not the only decks doing well, but these decks have all seen a lot of success already. Good luck laddering!

I think the deck has a ton of potential but if you don't draw your low-cost reborn minions consistently early on, the deck flat out sucks and gets scorched. It only consistently beats reactive decks like control warrior, but proactive decks of any kind stomp it with decent consistency. I'd love to see a deck list that gets around this issue because that quest is flat broken with egg.

Posted Aug 18, 2019 (Saviors of Uldum)Just wait until you play against the version with Silversword. Even mages have trouble with that version. Every single turn all of their reborn minions get +1/+1. It just scales out of control for Mage removal to deal with. This version also runs double equality and double consecration, so the Pally can nuke the board, duplicate something, give everything +1/+1, then go face. Mage can't do anything against that.

Posted Aug 13, 2019 (Saviors of Uldum)I think there's still time for innovation. If I recall, Cloning/Mind Blast OTK priest came out of no where, late into expansions. I'm hoping something similar happens for SoU.
I've messed around with a few decks but right now I'm enjoying Highlander Hunter the most. It's that nice balance between going straight face and fully reactive control, meaning my decisions feel a little more rewarded or punished.
Took out the Snip and Ursatron package because I felt it didn't add as much around that period of the game. Instead I put in Scarlet Webweaver and Wild Bloodstinger. If webweaver reduces the cost of your Bloodstinger it's huge to snipe off an apprentice or something else low cost that can totally change the board state.
I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I'm also keen to try reducing Bloodstinger or Rhino, then playing both and seeing if Bloodstinger can get two attacks in? Snipe an apprentice or luna, then go face due to Rhino.

Posted Aug 13, 2019 (Saviors of Uldum)Very likely for more archetypes to pop up. Heal Zoo is probabbly the best example of this. It literaly popped up out of nowhere halfway through the Witchwood meta (or maybe Kobolds I don't remember) and became a staple Tier 1 deck until Year of the Mammoth rotated. Wall Priest is another example of a T1 deck coming out of nowhere in the middle of a meta, although I believe that was due to a balance update which shook things up.

Posted Aug 13, 2019 (Saviors of Uldum)I feel you Cookie! I didnt like the pre release gameplay for this very reason.....the meta becomes copy and paste in days, rather than exploration, and trial and error........Im still exploring, and prob will all month long.
Than goodness for the Rank 5 floor.......I can keep building and experimenting without going back in rank!

Decks aren't the only thing that wins matches. You have to play smart and know what to do to win.
Good players playing good decks gets you to legendary and beat good players. Heck Ive seen good players win playing bad decks too as there is skill required to win in Hearthstone as much as everyone cries it's just up to RNG if you win or lose.
