Mechs!
Quote from BlizzardOur dive into Goblins vs Gnomes cards continues today as we explore another one of the fun themes coming in Hearthstone’s explosive first expansion.
Goblins and gnomes are notorious inventors who create incredible mechanized constructs by combining their keen intellect, some spare parts, and a little elbow grease. While goblin mechanical constructs may have a penchant for exploding and gnomish devices may turn you into a chicken, sometimes these pint-sized inventors manage to get something functioning as intended. Inconceivable!
From harvest golems to fel-spewing cannons, these “mechs” that have been engineered by both goblins and gnomes play a vital role in the struggle to see which diminutive race of engineers ultimately comes out on top. The top of what remains to be seen.
Mechs synergize well with each other—you could say they don’t like to be a-part!
If there’s one thing goblins and gnomes do well, it’s making sure their individual mechs are compatible with the other mechs they build, regardless of what the end result may look like. In Goblins vs Gnomes, many of the new “Mech”-themed cards synergize with other Mech cards, so expect Mechs to bolster other Mechs’ battle capability, assist your Hero, and other zany effects! Mech matters!
Definitely not OP, but that Fel Cannond could be really good, especially right at launch when not many people have enough mechs for mech decks.
I think the Fel Cannon won't be a good card to play at the launch of GvG. Everyone, or rather the majority, are bound to try out various Mech decks. Perhaps when things start to settle down.
And of topic I hated those cannons in WoW. :P
I really Like the Robocub. Can be used to secure token or Deathrattle minions early. Also a good anti aggro card. Glad to see some more early board for Druid.
And the warrior card, Idk. All I can think of is Hayao Miyazaki's - Howl's Moving Castle. xD
I don't understand people being unimpressed with the Druid card, it's fantastic and will go into nearly every Druid deck out there. We've needed good early drops for such a long time as a class - Naxx helped with Haunted Creeper, but nah, love this!
The only people unimpressed are bads. As soon as the streamers start using it, those same people will start screaming "OP!" and "Nerf!"
this . lol. it's just funny how fast they judge cards as bad :/
Exactly. It will seriously hurt any early minion that is not 3/2 by forcing a 2vs1 trade. Not sure how well it will do with druids tho(any other class would love them for sure)...maybe they will stop trying to bypass early game with increased mana...maybe not.
As much as I love all this new cards, I fail to see how they are class specific. What for example has druid to do with those robo cubs??
It's a mech bear. Bears are identified with Druid.
The Fel Cannon's lack of regard for the warlock's own non-mech minions, if any, seems consistent with the warlock's theme of self-abuse mechanics. The Screwjank Clunker likewise seems consistent with a Warrior philosophy (more weapons! more armor!).
OMG another warrior card...why does paladin never get any love...they better get some sick cards cause paladin always seems to get shorted over and needs to be boosted to better compete in high ranked meta...
I'm wondering how Fel Cannon works. It says deal two damage to a non-Mech card at the end of your turn, but it doesn't say friendly or enemy Mech. Also, it doesn't say random in the card text, so is it implied that it's random, or do you get to choose at the end? It seems weird to me that the Dev's for Hearthstone wouldn't put the "Random" word into the text since they've had so much trouble with leaving it out in the past.
It was confirmed random by the Brode. Yes, it can hit your own non-mech minions.
All of these look good. I really like Anodized Robo Cub since it's a good non-mech card and a cheap druid minion, finally.
NVM, I AM REALLY DUMB! its a mech...
Anodized Robo Cub is such a great card, especially when used in combo with Mechwarper
Why? They can't both be played on turn 2. Unless you were to Innervate on turn 1 then Mechwarper then Cub.
I love the rate at which we're getting these card reveals. When they first announced the voting system, I thought we'd only be getting 3 cards a week. Pleasantly surprised.
Why not hope for Dec 1st? Releasing on the first day of the season makes more sense.
Because Blizzard only does major releases on Tuesdays in NA. Thus the speculation of Dec 02 or Dec 09.
Except Draenor
Damn it all. We still don't have a Hunter card reveal for Goblins vs. Gnomes.
