Updated with Quotes from Cora!
A few days ago, Hearthstone caster Cora announced that she is stepping away from casting and she is joining the Hearthstone Final Design team as an Associate Game Designer!
Quote fromI'm taking a step away from commentary. The last 3 years have been the best of my life, and I'm so grateful to have been able to do something that I truly love, but it's time to pursue something I'll love even more. That being said...
Quote fromI am thrilled to announce that I will be joining the Hearthstone Final Design team as an Associate Game Designer at Blizzard Entertainment! I love Hearthstone more than anything, and I'm so blessed to be able to work with a team who feels the same way. <3
Congratulations Cora!
UPDATE:
Cora reacted in the comments of this article!
Her reaction to our initial report that she was quitting casting:
Quote fromFor the record, I'm not quitting casting. I hope to still pursue some casting on the side while working on the design team. :)
Asked what her background in game design is, she responded:
Quote fromFinal Design is primarily balance related, so the requirements were strong communication skills and Hearthstone gameplay. I have a BA in Broadcast Communication and 5 years of competitive Hearthstone experience, so I fit the bill pretty well. It will certainly be a learning process, but that's why I'm starting as an Associate and will have to work my way up.
She looks more like a shelf emptier to me.
Congrats, good luck. I think she might be usefullfor HS.
Did you notice, several days after expansion HS on twitch has around small amount of players watching it barely over 20k, and in the past it had huge amount. Kripparian only has 2-3k and he had over 10k viewers, slowly but surely HS is going down the drain and this chick wont save it.
Right now Krip has 16k viewers of hearthstone. And hearthstone has 50k viewers. For sure this for krip is a lie.
So why Amaz, Forsen, Toas, Lifecoach etc. no longer stream HS?
Not only she's not going to save it, but she's definitely going to aid in dooming it. F2p meta soon.
Because it is weekend, during work days no one watches him.
they went for less popular games, wich means less streaming competition
they couldn't keep up with all the good streamers HS has to offer
Lmao. True. Can't wait for another stream reveal including her, so people give her the shit she deserves once again.

That'll be amazing! So excited to hear more from you. :-)
Nice, because you did good job with the collegiate cup.
What is her background in game design? Does she have any background in game design? I'm not flaming, I am genuinely curious what the hire was based on.

Thanks for responding and best of luck in the role (although you will be missed as a caster). :)
Congrats, Cora! I'll miss your commentary on tournaments dearly. Our loss is Blizzard's gain though.
Best of luck!
Good luck and all the very best! We need more people who are absolutely passionate about the game like or close to how Ben Brode used to be, the amount of positive energy radiating out of that guy to this day has been irreplaceable.
Nerf Control Warrior please
For anyone that doubts how brave a move this is, try to understand the difference between an associate designer vs an actual designer view. I'd wager this is mostly on Blizzard terms but I sure hope Cora succeeds here. I wish her well.
