New Mechanics
We have two new mechanics in Saviors of Uldum, the return of Quest cards, as well as an addition to the existing Lackey mechanic.
- Reborn - Minions with the Reborn Keyword will return to life the first time they’re destroyed, but with 1 remaining Health. See all the new Reborn cards!
- Plagues - Plagues are powerful spells that help clear the board in some way. See all the new Plague cards!
- Quests - Quest cards make a return. They are still 1 mana cards that will always be part of your opening hand, but they are now easier to complete and have a Hero Power reward that will change your game play in some cool way. See all the new Quest cards!
- Lackeys - A new Lackey is being added to the pool: Titanic Lackey. This one gives a friendly minion +2 Health and Taunt. Lackeys are special token minions which are randomly generated through other particular cards. They are 1/1 minions with "devious" battlecries. See all the new Lackey cards!
Highlander cards
Not just the Quest card mechanic saw a return but Blizzard also created new cards for the Highlander style decks, where you can have only 1 copy of each card in your deck to make certain cards activate.
The most interesting of these new Highlander cards is Zephrys the Great a card that when played will look at the state of the board, the amount of mana you have this turn and next turn and how many cards you have (but does NOT look at your hand) and then gives you a choice out of 3 cards tailored specifically to your situation from ANY of the Basic and Classic card sets, including other classes.
This means that if you play Zephrys while the opponent has a big board and you have 4 mana left it might give you Consecration as an option, but with 5 mana left it might give you the option of Holy Nova, and with 6 mana left it might give you the option of Blizzard. It might in those same situations also give you a taunt minion of varying cost as an option. Or something to deal with the situation on your next turn.
And it's not just a defensive tool. If you play it while you have board control with several minions, it might give you the option of Savage Roar or Bloodlust, providing you with the means to finish your opponent. Like the card says it will give you the perfect card!
Arena Changes
The Arena rotation is changing again.
- The new rotation of card sets will include cards from Basic, Classic, League of Explorers, Journey to Un'goro, Kobolds and Catacombs, Rastakhan's Rumble, and of course the new Saviors of Uldum cards.
- Arena tip: With the rotation changes, all the unfinished Arena runs will be retired and you will get a free arena run with the new rotation in its place. Free stuff! (You may need to relog for it to activate though)

- All of Kripparrian's theorycrafted decks.
- A selection of popular Standard decks from your fellow users.
- Some WILD decks from your fellow users.
- If that's not enough you can find a lot more pro decks in our Decklists for Day 1 news post from yesterday or our Theorycrafting Livestream news post from before the week-end.

I feel like I cannot get into these new cards.
these quests jump from being really underwhelming to being stupid overpowered. I dislike the automatic application of the reward as opposed to the previous form where the reward was a separate card you played.
I don’t feel like the reborn minions are diverse or interesting enough that I would want to play with them and they’re annoying to encounter.
i can appreciate the care they’ve put into experimenting with the flavor of this expansion and the context it might fit into regarding Year of the Dragon’s bigger story, but none of this is really pushing interesting design space. Feels like we got an expansion because Blizzard had a production schedule that said they had to release new cards.
Oh well, old good Hearthstone with its "pay-to-win mechanics". "Hey, I'm really good at hearthstone!" No, your wallet IS very good.
Really shitty packs. Always get the legendaries I don't use. Offering me paladin and warlock quests when I don't even play with that classes, because I don't have the other legendaries to do that. Whenyou open packs, hearth should be prepared to give legendaries for a classe that you prefer with a inherent probability. I have to see more for from this expansion, because i don't think this new mechanics are incredible.
boring shitstone exp RIP
"Craft any golden Legendaries you really want. This is important due to the no duplicate legendaries rule.*"
Why craft first before you open packs? It's not like you get a duplicate. If you open packs first you might get lucky get the legendary you want instead of spending 1600 dusts... right?
The odds of opening the GOLDEN legendary you really want are extremely slim(note: it's only if you really want the golden version, not just the regular version).
Let's bring an example: You think Zephrys is really cool and you know for sure you're going to want a golden version. If you wait until after your packs are opened, there is a chance you opened a regular Zephyrs and it would be useless because you are crafting the golden version.
Important to point that this is only for golden legendaries, this wouldn't apply to normal legendaries you want.
58 packs - 6 Legendaries!!! Sir Finley, Activate the Ob, Warrior Quest, Colossus, Amat, Rogue Quest.
A lot better than ROS for me lol
best time of the season, Game is actually fun now. This just in try all your cards and fun decks before you have to tech same old cards in to have a chance against those superpro top deck copies
After 80 packs 3 legendaries. Then I went 10 (one golden) in 180. Plus the promos and 2 golden epics as well. Not lucky like in RoS but still quite good.
Currently experimenting quest Tess Rogue, zoolock, Reno Mage and wild even shaman (Vessina is OP)
Best opening of any expansion so far, 133 packs, 11 legendaries + the 2 ones they give (quest + pre-order) so I'm pretty satisfied. Watching the meta settles to see what to craft now.
66 packs - 6 legendaries (golden octo, rip), 14 epics (only 2 commons and 11 rares missing also). Wasn't this darn lucky since old gods when I got the same almost 6-7 legendaries in 70-80 packs.
Take a look at the deathrattle rogue list from Dog:
AAECAaIHBu0ChKYD7PwCpAODpwPA7AIMhgm0AYgHzQO9BJsF3voCpvACgKYDoaEDtPYC8acDAA==
imagine playing mech hunter or toke druid day one in casual mode.
some ppl don‘t deserve internet..
Butt hurt aren't we?
26 packs 1 lendaries shit blizzard
I got 2 legenedaries, but the second one was Mr 8/8 Draw 8....*facepalm*
70 packs opened but only 2 legendaries.. feelsbadman!
102 packs opened
Shaman quest for log in, Golden Bran for pre-purchase golden legendary. Golden Vessina and King Phaoris from packs, regular hunter quest, priest quest, Dark Pharaoh Tekahan, Octosari, and Colossus of the Moon, so not bad on legendary cards. 19 epics and 2315 dust. I've certainly had worse luck from pre-orders.
Activate the obelisk as reward
In 30 packs opened Hack the System
Oof ;(
27 packs - 3 legendaries
40 packs - 2 legendaries.
So 5 from 67 + the freebie. Not bad.
Login reward - Untapped Potential
and Activate the Obelisk + Bazaar Burglary in first 3 free packs, :PogChamp:
