Priest quest is out bois!
This looks underwhelming at first, but it is actually really strong.
7/5 is worth 5.5 Mana. 7/1 is worth 3.5 Mana. 1/1 is worth 0.5 Mana.
So even if this card just spawns one scarab, it is worth 9.5 Mana, therefore this card cheats 2.5 Mana and the Taunt on the Scarab.
Really good Arena card for sure. In Constructed, Mages can deal with it quite well, but 7 Attack is too high for Rogues and some Druid decks to hit it with their face. On it's Mana-cost, competition gets really high, but this is definitely a good Budget card.
Generally agree but I would count slightly different. 7/5 is more like 5 mana since a 5 mana 7/5 might see play but probably not a 5 mana 5/6 (pit fighter). 7/1 is more like 3 mana since 3 mana 5/1 exists (Magma rager) and doesn’t see play. 1/1 is 0 mana (Wisp), with taunt perhaps 0,5 mana. So it cheats out like 1-1,5 mana. Strength lies in potential multiple 1/1 taunts and the fact you get all above in one card.
But that's not how you count. It's not about wether a card would be played at x. It's math, it can't be changed. Formula is
(Attack+Health-1)/2= Mana spend on minion stats.
Note that 0.5 values can be rounded up or down on cards because half mana crystals don't exist. Compare Am'gam Rager to Upgradeable Framebot and you can see. Genereally rounded down cards are strong and most rounded up cards are weak,
So yes, 7/5 can be a 5 Mana card. When evaluating card text one has to include the 0.5s though. Hearthstone math only works if you count in the 0.5s otherwise a lot of things stop making sense.
I see, guess it makes sense.
Dude, controll shaman with Muckmorpher gonna be fun, taunts with reborn and these kind of minions alongside Walking Fountain, new board clear (which btw kills all reborn minions) Earthquake and some legendaries, you can even run EVIL Totem and Spirit of the Frog
7/6 Obsidian Destroyer LUL
You never get both bodies on board simultaneously(with out any coping/reviving shenanigans), so You cant really say it has 14 attack.
Reborn is kinda like a reverse divine shield, you first need to kill the whole body and then ping for 1 dmg. It is stronger since it triggers rush/charge/deathrattle on summon effects twice, but on a minion like this its basicaly a 7/5 with divine shield.
This could be a Giggling Inventor of the set, one of those cards that doesn't seem too good until you have to actually play against it. Think about it: To kill this thing, you need to attack three times on your turn, two of them having to attack a 7 attack minion. If you ignore it, it snowballs. The mana, # of cards, and/or tempo the opponent has to use up to take this out easily is going to be worth more than 7 mana.
The only reason why it might not see play is that 7 mana turns are in that realm of "you better do something really impactful on the board", and while he's a PITA to kill, only the 1/1 taunt is impacting the board, and that's just not enough.
This will be insane in arena, though.
I see your point, but Giggling required 4 attacks to get through the taunts, 5 to clear the board fully, and only cost 5 (pre nerf).
This costs 7, only requires 1 attack to get through the 1/1 and any other damage your opponent has will go to your face. Plus, playing this on an empty board as control? That means you've already stabilised and there are probably more impactful plays you could be making with that 7 mana.
Its a good card, just not that good.
Good arena card, but I'll be incredibly surprised if this sees play in constructed. The 1/1 taunt just isn't a particularly powerful snowball effect against most decks, and there's a ton of ways to deal with it, from all the transform effects, to just using a fireball + ping on it.
Not bad, but the 5 health probably won't be enough.
The Reborn mechanic is going to get old very quickly.
Not for shamans with the new board clear
People don't understand that this is a control card. You play it when the board is clear. It's sticky as hell and a major threat. It'd be hard for an enemy to take care of it since it requires a taunt to be killed, and it to be killed with 5 damage then 1 damage a second time. That's hard to pull off if your board is cleared and the person who played it has a hand full of control cards.
