Replcae any defensive card's health and power and it'd be better as aggro and also lose all viability as defense.
I really like this, as someone who's been mourning Sludge Belcher every since it's left us with little mid-range defensive tools to stop all aggro. This is great against all minion-based decks, and even if not, spending 2 mana of hero power to kill this after rebirth is not what any aggro deck wants to do.
I'm rethinking Making Mummies after all...
my problem with making mummies isn't that it isnt owerful, in fact i find that having a 2/2 copy of a Tirion or even a shirvala could be really beneficial, my problem comes from the fact that blizzard's new tendency to give aparticular mechanicc on a single expansion and then forget about it, reborn's theme may as well fall in this category kind of the discussion between echo and "repeatable this turn", so echo is basically just a witchwood thing that will never get printed again and "repeatable this turn" cards dont even count as triggers for cards that interact with echo (i once got witch's brew in a janky burgle echo rogue and was annoyed that the wraith card that grows when you play echo doesn even react from witch's brew). So if reborn is jsut a saviour's of uldum exclusive mechanic then the making mummies deck is stuck with whatever jank we get now and will never evolve and get more support, which completely kills off its viability.
I like it, I prefer statistics in one with another minion are very annoying
This one is pretty hard to evaluate. The meta will have to decide if this is good enough or not.. Sludge Belcher was played in every single control deck back in the day. But the power level of cards has been growing quite a lot since then..
Only time will tell!
Its kinda like Saronite Chain Gang
Taunt warrior incomming next month!
better than 4/6 cuz of two hits, good enough for res priest without shuffle
Sludge Belcher is back
They got tired of having to stitch him together over and over, so they just rapped him in some gauze.
Exactly. And its even better, -1 attack, but 1 less mana and ability be healed. I expect this to be in almost every deck really. Even some aggro I guess
Pack filler, not sure where it can land outside of meh arena picks
Considering Sludge Belcher was so popular I think you're vastly underestimating this card
The meta was way diffirent in the belcher days, I don't think the belcher would still be as powerful as it once was. And there is a big diffirence between 2 and 3 attack in early-mid game, so doubt it. Which deck now runs a belcher-esque taunt just for the sake of having the ability to stop 2 minions? Removal and swing cards are far more prevalent these days, the Belcher era is gone. And for taunt warrior, there's just more better options.
3 attack is far better than 2, you're right.
4 mana is FAR better than 5 mana if you want a defnesive option that would actually slow aggro enough, especially when aggro today is mech hunter, token druid and murloc shaman. You don't need 3 attack against any of them, just taunt as soon as possible.
3 attack is key against token druid because buffed treants from Soul of the Forest have 3 helth as well as these garbage lifesteal minions from that RoS spell. In murloc shaman, as soon as they land Coldlight Seer the two-attack taunt ain't stopping shit. Against hunter as well, it is important to clear their mechs to prevent magnetic synergies from developing, it's fine for this deck to wait a turn and then rush you sown with a gigantic minion. So killing this vanilla taunt is not devastating enough for agro decks to run out of steem or something. Overall the playstyle and the nature of aggresive decks isn't the same as in the Belcher days, I don't understand how people aren't seeing it.
It's still only 4 mana. 1 mana cheaper is a much bigger deal than losing one attack.
And the reborn minion is a 2/1 rather than a 1/2, which is arguable also better.
Regardless, you were calling this "pack filler". That's a strong statement. Calling something "pack filler" is saying it's a bad card. Considering we're arguing whether or not this is as good as sludge belcher, there is no way you can legitimately say this is "pack filler".
Totally agree
It's not a "virtual 4/6". The closest comparison is a 2/5 with Divine Shield. You can Fireball a 4/6, but you can't Fireball a 2/5 with Divine Shield. I wouldn't say Reborn is a horrible keyword, it's just not interesting at all.
