To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if control warrior or any of its variants run this card. Some may remember but old quest warrior would actually run both sulfurase and dr boom in the odd version and even the war DK for value in non odd versions. This was sometimes all three.
This quest has a big advantage is that you can use it to push a game in your favor when boom is the third from the bottom card of your deck. If not you can just not complete the quest or use the quest hero power to generate some value before you boom. I don't think you would go the other way but, I find boom to be hard to use some turns like you get the one damage to all when you need health and they have a fatty on the board. A lot of control war decks run nine and ten cost minions making it difficult to use as well. I also always get crap from my field delivery. I could easily see holding it until it benefits me more to play like at ten mana when my omegas kick in and I have actual mechs to play.
They're for completely different archetypes though. This isn't a card for control warrior. It's for mid-range/aggro warrior. The quest can be completed fairly quickly, and the effect helps you maintain a tempo advantage gained from weapons to push for lethal. The effect can be seen as 2 4/3 minions for 4 mana per turn with a weapon equipped, or 1 4/3 for 2 mana on turns when you don't have a weapon.
So nerfing control warrior is now like giving him more archetype maybe some dudes play those variations and dont get mad cause didnt nerfed the precious warrior safe craft cards? 😀
Awesome
...what?
Easy quest parameters...the benefit is legit weak especially when you have Dr. Boom Hero Legendary to overwrite this power. Seems...weird?
This hero power is super busted you don't know what you are saying. I agree this is likely not going to be played due to Dr. Boom, but it is super powerful nonetheless.
For example: Paladin Hero Power is 2 Mana 1/1 (which is worth 0.5 Mana) Upgraded Paladin Hero Power is 2 Mana two 1/1s (0.5+0.5=1), Paladin DK is 2Mana 2/2 (1.5 Mana)
This Hero Power is 4/3 which is 3 Mana, and it can refresh If you use it twice, it cheats you 2 Mana. So if you have a weapon equipped, you can cheat out a lot of Mana over the curse of multiple turns.
this card is prob easy to activate which is quite scary just throw in a 2 x Heroic Strikes and a Weapons Project and you practically there, could see more play than what we think although warrior is at a good place at the moment so we will see.......super pumped for expansion, lettsssssssss gooooooooooo
... but then you have to replace two good cards in your deck with two very bad cards (Heroic Strike).
2 x Weapons Project alone gets you there, and control lists might considering running a Fiery War Axe for early activation and/or a Gorehowl for full quest completion in one card.
It will be one of the best warrior cards starting next March!
I think this is actually pretty good for aggressive warrior decks over boom
- You will always have quest in play so you have game plan consistency, sometimes you don't draw boom.
- Boom costs 7 mana. On the turn it comes out, it does nothing but gain 7 armor which is not what you want as the aggressor
- You can use the hero power multiple times a turn
- The hero power is always what you want (more tempo / pressure). If you RNG into gain 7 armor hero power, that may slow your game plan down.
Dr. Boom is obviously the superior control card but this is printed for aggressive warriors not for control. Maybe control would consider it after a rotation.
Boom is way too slow for an aggro deck. This definitely fits better in that archetype.
1. what aggro warrior deck?
2.no aggro deck want to start with 1 card that do nothing
Obviously it doesn't compare to Dr.Boom, but with sets planned in advance, this will still be available when Boom rotates.
Still, I don't think it will see play in a Face Warrior type of deck. Attacking with a weapon 5 times... opponent should be dead long ago if that's the strategy with such a deck.
Then again, even Murloc Shaman is running both Hagathas, and getting 2 mana 4/3s, with the ability for more than one per turn is pretty decent value and longevity.
fools bane sulthraze ez quest
Hack the System by smashing it with your weapon 5 times, genius!
Won’t see play as long as dr boom is a card
Sul'thraze ?
The quest is pretty easy to complete and you don't have to build your whole deck around it. The 2 mana 4-3 is ... cute... not game breaking , not terrible.
On the other hand, Dr. Boom, Mad Genius totally outclasses it, without any setup or a -1 card disadvantage at the start of the game. In Wild it is out of the question, it won't see any play whatsoever there.
All in all, it may see some play in Standard once Dr.Boom rotates, until then it's pretty irrelevant.
If I pull it i will try to build some decks in wild with it, just for the funsies probably.
Can't tell if the card is bad...or if the card is good but warrior is so broken right now that good just isn't enough right now.
