Quote from Blizzard
The Burndown: July 24-31:
- A brand-new player vs. player Tavern Brawl where only the best decks remain at the top of the mountain. Queue up to receive a random deck. Then, if you lose, you’ll use the deck that defeated you in your next match. Which decks will survive The Burndown?
- Rewards:
- Earn 1 Saviors of Uldum card pack the first time you win a match
The pirate warrior deck is beyond 70 wins now. The only time I've lost with it is to another pirate warrior deck.
I don't understand why people keep playing these pirate warriors. I find it boring as hell, brainless smorc deck. And for what? Max 100 gold at the end of the day?
I just auto-concede when I meet a different deck to be able to play another class and enjoy 1 or 2 games before meeting mercenaries 14 again, and take my lethal turn 3 xD
Terrible brawl. You basically concede till you finally get a good deck.

Worst brawl...ever. Was fun yesterday with the different decks. Now, every time I attempt to play I get Mercenaries 280... creative concept. Poor execution.
Pro tip: the deck with the most copies of Patches the Pirate always wins.
Who knew a deck with 4 patches would be broken. , ,
Sometimes I think Team 5 are just a group of meth heads.
It is a cool concept, but has nothing to do with evolution. Decks do not evolve, they either go extinct or just 'copy' themselves.
Would be cool to include some sort of concept of evolution next time
Why do I get the same deck all the time????
Wow. One day in and the brawl has devolved into Pirate Warrior mirrors. It had potential, but having a deck that can flood the board on turn one or do that plus 10/12 damage on turn two with the coin means that other decks have little chance to spread...
Fucking pirate decks, I'm bored of playing it.
This would have been cool if the winning deck had a random card taken out and you had to pick a replacement from 3 random cards like in arena. The strong decks would still float to the top but there would constant forced variations stopping excessive wins while below average decks with a lucky streak would have a shot at becoming prevalent. It would have also simulated evolution ,natural selection, and random variation pretty well.
this brawl would have been much more fun if it gave everyone a deck with COMPLETELY random cards. instead of just a set number of decks. would have much more variety.
Ive played against mercenaries 280 literally every run I did..,
I won my first game with a rogue deck that was all over the place. It had a few death rattle synergy cards early in the curve and then was like malygos with only 1 spell damage card, boomerang (I went through most of the deck without seeing any weapons or weapon buff cards), academic espionage, y’shaarj. I was playing against a Warlock Discard Zoo deck that probably should have beaten me. I saw him play 3 high priest jeklik and he had at least two of the legendary that gets +2/+2 every time it’s discarded. He got a lot of value out of the deck but he really only lost because he wasted his cataclysm on a crappy board right before I started dropping the random high stat legends I had.
Loving the brawl, but would be awesome to see the brawl statistics.
Reminds me an awful lot of Game Theories recent video on evolution and natural selection. Fun brawl :D
last time i checked mercenearies 608 (warrior pirate deck) was at 58 wins in a row
highly unlikely anything comes close to that, so we have a winner
Mercenaries 280
