For the sacrifice of avoiding duplicates, 10 damage is nothing, especially when the targets are random. Theres literally stronger common cards than this. The ideal scenario is there is a wide board with exactly 10 health spread across minions, which is unlikely, there will be far more or far less. Too much and its useless, too little and its worthless.
Also, mage has great AoE and removal anyway, why add reno when you lose a blizzard and a flamestrike in the process? Or lose a polymorph for those big minions?
This very much sucks my amigos
For now it seems more or less playable only in current Wild-Reno-Mage. Though even there i'd expect more impact.
Wild Reno Mage? Is this one of those decks you build, are excited about and then ragequit after 30 minutes, because you get stomped by ress priest five times in a row?
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Glad they didn't give Reno the old battle cry.
I'm actually can't believe they ruined such a great character. Original Reno stats - okay, original requirement - okay, effect - okay excuse me do you want me to play a worse omega devastator in the deck or what?
He can't really be compared to Omega Devastator though.
- Devastator has a muuuuuch better body in an extremely relevant tribe. That's a nod in favor for sure.
- But! Devastator also is just a yeti until turn 10, and some games don't get there which means some games he's "just a Yeti". Furthermore, some games you get to 10 mana but it's too late and the removal isn't enough to save you (especially only hitting one target, as we'll discuss further). If you need removal on turn 6, 7, 8, or 9 Reno can handle that and Devastator just sits there hoping you can Shield Block and Suit Up and Armor Up and not be dead to the board on turn 10.
- They both deal 10, so I get why you compare them - if the opponent controls a Wargeared Upgradeable Framebot, both cards kill it. But, they play differently a lot of the time. Omega targeting means it can't destroy Spellproof-ed minions (minor), it gets totally blocked by Divine Shield (major given Zilliax' prevalence in the metagame), and that it can only ever hit 1 thing (major). Reno deals damage randomly - that's really bad if their board is big enough (like against Big Priest in Wild) but it also means that if their board is Scargil, Sludge Slurper, a random lackey, Grimscale Oracle, and Underbelly Angler Reno is a full boardclear (and a 5-for-1 card value engine) while Devastator has to pick a target. 10 damage is a boatload and many top decks "go wide" right now (Murloc Shaman, Token Druid) so Reno is going to be insane value.
who made this bad Reno art!?
I know right? He's even missing his hat!
All these new cards are Unplayable in standart!!!
Coz of Bomb warrior.
Might see playin wild thought, bomb-dude is more or less rare guest there.
Have you played wild recently? Its 70% ress priest, 20% decks that specifically beat ress priest (OTK combo, mill decks) and 10% people who try to "brew" some normal decks, but usually ragequit and go back to standard after being roflstomped by priest. So on average, if you build some normal deck, you have only about 1 in 10 chance to run into another "brewer" like yourself and actually have some fun.
Yes, I play mostly wild only.
Warlock Mecha'thun stand allright against priest.
Well, thats exactly what I said... the only decks who can beat priest are OTK comboes.
This card is getting a lot of unnecessary hate.
Tempo is good. Creative deckbuilding is good.
More than anything though, you can still run two giants, two callings, this mamajama and 25 other cards.
you know what kills creative deck building? Bomb warrior ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)
This game has been paper/rock/scissors since it was still just WoW. Maybe Blizzard prints an Flare like card that removes bombs. Maybe you get lucky and draw the bombs. Maybe you giant/calling turn 5 and it is irrelevant. Duskbreaker with a 4/6 body is still good.
-Laughs in Dyn-o-matic
How is volcano better it leaves you with an empty board and crippled Manas the next turn. In of itself it's a comparable or better clear then the warrior 5 damage card as it only targets enemy minions. 1 card decks get more support it may be usable
Reno, where did you leave your hat o_O ?
