Feels like this is a card that suffered because "RenoMage" is already a thing in Wild with a strong incentive thanks to Kazakus and of course the original Reno Jackson. The other three Saviors of Uldum aren't in Kazakus' classes so they feel a bit spicier. This is still good (seriously that's basically a Volcano stapled to a 4/6 body, making it a fine boardclear), but I'm not sure it's good enough to make me want to play Singleton in Standard.
Noooooooo :( i was hoping for something bonkers, but this is just pure shit.... My favourite hero in HS obliterated into oblivion and that art suck ballz. GJ TEAM 5 you've printed a card worse than purify
Ignore the retards that downvoted u but damn bro u are so right this card is crap huge restriction for 10 randomly split damages on minions HAHAHAHAHAHAHA trash this is trash just trash simply trash nothing more but trash I'd rather play a death wing than this useless card wtf
I can see this being pretty good in Wild. I think a lot of times, people underestimate the value of cards before an expansion drops. While I will certainly agree I was hoping for something a little more exciting, I think this does its job. Look at it this way. A lot of Reno Mage decks run Brann Bronzebeard for a plethora of reasons. That card plus this one is a 9 mana, 6/10 in stats, 20 damage board clear, which is something a lot of Reno or I guess Highlander decks would like to see, and even if you can't pull of the Brann combo, it's still 6 mana for a 4/6 with a 10 damage board clear. Pesky paladin with four 1/1's, a Corridor Creeper, and a popped Righteous Protector? One 4/6 later, no board, no tempo. Also, don't look alone at a card's face value, try to think of the various situations it would be useful in.
However, Big Priest wins every time.
Reno: We're gonna be Meteorologist
p.s. Even meteorologist is better, coz it can hit face..
So, it's worst
Understatted! Mediocre Effect! Big Cost!
Double Dyn-o-matic which doesn't hurt your own stuff, but also kills mechs, is bad?
I mean, I don't know that it's worth the no-duplicates restriction, but it's decent in-itself.
no
Yes, and Millhouse would be decent if it weren’t for that pesky battlecry.
Comparing it to dynomatic is tempting, except this is a legendary, so a one-of that in 20% of games will be in the bottom 6 of your deck. That deck has to be made intentionally inconsistent for it to have any reason to be included at all.
Consider if Vargoth had the text “battlecry: your next Arcane Missiles cast this turn is cast an extra two times.” Even that would be better, as you’d only have to include one other sub-optimal card and you could conceivably go face after a doomsayer/nova turn.
Unfortunately, I can only see two scenarios: either they printed the highlander legendaries as largely wild-only cards, and Mage will have to chalk it up as their duskfallen aviana set, or they print some Glittermoth-type support cards and bomb warrior gets a free pass against four out of five classes for the expansion.
I think that misses the point. Reno is clearly a good card. This text without "if your deck contains no duplicates" would be so f'ing strong. He'd be an auto-include in pretty much every Mage deck.
So the question is whether no-duplicates Mage is a good deck. Might not be. But I don't think that means that Reno is a bad card.

Here's another thought: this is a card which is going to get better at the set rotation. When Boomsday and the current crop of Bomb cards rotate out, no-duplicates decks will become a lot better, from lack of bombs. Hopefully next year, maybe in the 3rd set, there are more no-duplicates cards. It's pretty cool that there was a brief window of overlap between the old Reno and Kazakus, where no-duplicates became incredibly powerful. Contrary-wise, there was too long an overlap between Raza and Shadowreaper Anduin.
The deck could be just a meme deck in the short term, and then after Bombs are gone, maybe there's new support, and it wins like mad. That's totally fine. Time exists so that everything doesn't happen at once.
We're gonna be ... poor.
Small payoff to demand a highlander deck....
Aw shit, here we go again.
Man this is such a huge disappointment . It's worse than Meteorologist given that it's a lot more easy to make a big hand mage deck than a highladder deck and that he can also hit face and it doesn't come with the drawback that you can't even get the battlecry against people who are playing bomb warrior. Even if it may turn out to work by some weird string of events , it also feels really uninspired . Sad.
Hes not a Mage. Hes a Mage legendary silly. The same reason a damn Spider is a Druid legendary.
Finally Blizzard also support Wild with new cards!
And yes, this card definitly will power up Reno Mage a bit :D
I like it!
Another useless card.
Belle delphine's bathwater is more useful than this card ๐๐๐
You realize this card says 'minions only' right?
I think flavor wise, that's kinda the point. While his buddies are fighting EVIL in Dalaran, he literally raided the mage's archives and grabbed whatever he could, because he's self serving like that. His quest reward (the mage one) is full of random scrolls that he grabbed and has no idea how to use, and his new weapons hits random targets, because, quite frankly, he has no business being a mage. I can see how some are off-put, but I love the flavor and think it's pretty funny.
