Hearthstone Grandmasters - Week 7 Results

Grandmasters Logo

Another week of the Grandmasters tournament is over and we've now completed the Round Robin portion.  Six players from each region will move on to the Seasonal Playoffs.  The winners of each of these three 6-man tournaments will find themselves one step closer to the Hearthstone Global Finals and a chance at the $500,000 prize pool.

  • The best record of the Round Robin stage belongs to Fr0zen at 12-2.
  • It was a rough stage for 3 of the 4 former World Champions in the tournament.  Firebat (4-10), Pavel (4-10), and tom60229 (6-8) all finished near the bottom of their groups.
  • Hunterace continued his hot streak, finishing 1st in his group with a 10-4 record and securing a first round bye.
  • This week saw only four classes being represented with Rogue(17), Warrior(14), Mage(13), and Hunter(4).
  • Blizzard has announced that the Global Finals will take place at BlizzCon in November to crown this year's Hearthstone World Champion!  Details below.

The playoff portion begins next Friday.  With three remaining from each region, who will come out on top?  Comment below with your picks for Season 1!!

Quote from Blizzard

We’re excited to share that BlizzCon will be the destination for the Hearthstone Global Finals this November! 8 players will duke it out at the Anaheim Convention Center in sunny California for their share of the $500,000 prize pool, the trophy, and the title of Hearthstone World Champion!

Both end-of-season playoffs will qualify one Grandmaster from each region to the Global Finals, meaning three Grandmasters will qualify through the Season 1 Playoffs, with three more qualifying through the Season 2 Playoffs. The final two players will qualify in through China’s Gold Open Series Playoffs, which will take place on July 20 and October 6.
